Tom Haverkamp has been working for several years on his own action, and it is finally here. Tom is a wonderful fella and a master machinist. He has studied several action over the past couple years picking out his likes and dislikes. He has incorporated all the features that he feels were the best. His main purpose in building this action is accuracy. I havent gotten the chance to get my grubby little hands on one of these yet, but folks like Gordy gritters has, and he likes them!!! Another fine gunsmith Albert Clark has also said some very promising words about these actions. I am going to go pick mine out tomorrow afternoon. Tom has worked long and hard on these actions and i can asure you there were no corners cut. Toms just not that way! Tom is having a little trouble getting the word out, and asked me to tell all who i know. I think you will find what Gorrdy has found, and thats one heck of an action at a very affordable price. I took a pic of the flyer tom has sent me, and i hope all of you can read this. Like i said i just wanted to pass a good word along for a good man!! Check them out!!!! Thanks Lee

Actions will be available in right bolt right port, or RB LP. 223 ppc or 308. I hope i have covered everything . Thanks Lee
 
Looks like another good action being offered in a crowded field.
Everything looks good except that I really dislike the pin style bolt stop/release but it is probably quite acceptable to most BR shooters.

I am no expert by any means but i think it will be pretty hard to find an action at this price with these kind of tolerances. Lee
 
This is really a wonderfull time for BenchRest.
We have more high quality custom equipment available than ever before.
The only excuse for not having top notch equipment is money.
 
What kind of bolt face configuration.???...Coned or Remington/flat...what kind of extractor...Sako, Winchester PF, Remington.???
Any unique firing pin to bolt body attachment (aka BAT bayonet)..?
Any more details..bolt body diameter...700" or larger..???

The bolts are rem style flat. Sako extractor. Tom is waiting on some sako extractors otherwise there are a few ready to go. Extractors will be here in a couple weeks. Tom said he is going to do a dual port for Gordy, but isn't sure if he is going to produce them. I think he will if the demand is high enough. I dont know what the bolts measure i just know that they are tight! No more than .002 and probably closer to .0015. Almost every action i have seen Tom handle the first thing he looked at was how tight or loose they were. Tom wanted his tight and it sounds like they are. Tom also assured me, not truing work is necessary. He says they are perfectly true. He also hates remington style recoil lugs. He has done a recoil lug in the rear tang area, as well as a cut out in the middle of the action. These actions probably wont win any beauty contest. Tom as built them for one purpose. Accuracy!!! Again fellas keep in mind i am just a friend. Tom is the man to talk to. He just asked me to spread the good word the best i could, so i am. Tom is a great fella. Give him a call. Actions

Another quality piece is certainly welcome. It is probably no better, or worse, than a mutitude of top quality actions already in production.

I think it is a false premise to state, "accuracy robbing recoil lug', when referring to the basic Remington design. Granted, if the lug is not perfectly flat, it will produce the same affect as a out of square barrel shoulder, or a out of square action face. But, get it right, and the "problem" becomes a moot point.

That is a right port, right eject action. If it uses a Sako Extractor, does that mean it is in the same position as a Remington that has had a Sako Conversion?

The advent of CAD-CAM machining techniques has made it possible to produce items such as Actions at a reasonable cost, coupled with a high degree of accuracy. The future will tell how this offerring plays out........jackie

Here goes a slightly bigger photo of Tommy's action, and yes I have to agree with what Lee says about Tommy.......Lee can you please tell Tommy I want a left bolt right port action....:D

Thanks for the better picture friend!! Ill was going to go to toms today, but it looks like i have to wait until tomorrow now! Im bummed!! It will be a long 24hr's. Im going to try a left port myself, but i will sure tell tom he needs to make a left bolt!! thanks again! Lee
 
New action on the block

Looks similar to a short hart.
I like the cut out on the bottom.
I had this done to my Hart Action.
I bet it's a close copy after Jim Harts remodeling Efforts.
I also do like the dovetail bridge

New actions

One good thing about all these new action makers coming online is that it creats competition and that could be a benifit for the consumer, as in lower prices for higher quality goods. Or at least the prices won't escalate. faster than inflation. RANDY

I wonder

The color of the body suggest a chrome moly action body. Maybe it's the 40X that Remington SHOULD make.

Nobody ever said if that Sako Extractor is on the top of the right hand locking lug like a Remington Conversion........jackie
