Calvin I have been looking through some old magazines that a friend gave me and thought that I would share some of the listings in them. As a matter of fact I just found the 1965 winners with their equipment lists.

Be nice if we had a site listing the past winners of major events during early years up to present, like the Nationals,Super Shoot,World Championships

History is important to any sport.

Something that I have heard about but haven't seen anything done about is a Benchrest Museum.........it would be nice to actually see and read about the history of Benchrest from start to present in one place. I am sure a few shooters still have some knowledge of the beginnings of Benchrest and have some of the early equipment, and if it is left much longer I'm sure a lot of the early information, equipment and stories of Benchrest will be lost.............Ian

Ian, I agree. We have some of those shooters here in Texas who have a vast knowledge of the early history of Benchrest Competition. They relish the opportunity to share their experiences with "Johnny come lately's" like myself. IMO,the Super Shoot would be high on the list of locations for a museum. A collection point for memorabilia. Competitors from around the globe visits the Super Shoot once a year. Old magazines in good condition, are difficult to find.

Thanks for sharing, James.

Glenn I agree Kelbly's would be a good place for a Benchrest Museum.
If someone is inclined to start a Benchrest museum, I'll donate a 1954 edition of The Ultimate in Rifle Precision. It may not be much but it's a start..........Ian

Just FYI there was a 'Coleman' listed as a winner @ 200 yards back in 1962 but it was not this Coleman...................but anybody who has ever watched me shoot already knew that. ;)

I find this thread amazing. 2 years ago I offered a complete set of Precision Shooting Magsazines from 1975 to present, all they had to do was pay shipping, not 1 taker. The magazines have been destroyed less about 1200 pictures of different shooters, just amazing!!!!!!!
