Can anyone suggest a replacement pocket scale as a dependable replacement??? Has to be small to fit in my range box drawer....... Thanks in advance....

Geeze. No one dared to express a preference.
I have a Gem-Pro 250 so I went to Old Will Knott to see if they are still available. They are not so I checked with Old Will Knott to see what is available. I would suggest you check out their website. They have been good with me and my dealings.
Oldwillknottscales.com
Then look for their section Precision Scales.

Yeah, the rubber mounts under the pan usually go. Same thing happened to me.
Either the Liman micro or nxt size up are pretty good.
I went with the micro , it fits in my box like the CED.

Smitty,

Pls post your opinions on your new scales. After my CED died I bought about 5 small scales only two be let down. Now use a Dillon. It is reliable, consistent but big.

Hey Mark,

Purchased 2 CED pocket scales back in 2012 and really liked them.... A lot of Benchresters here in H-Town used them (Schmidt, Walter and Bukys). One of mine quit on me and had to get another for back up. So I purchased a CED DAA pocket scale. Its small (3'x5"x3/4"appox) large easy to read display and is well built. It reads out to hundredths which I like but due to sensitivity you'll need a wind cover for it. I looked around the house an found a clear top from one of my Dale Sr die cast display cases and it works great....
My buddy Gary just purchased the CED large scale and really likes it also. I think its the same scale as the Dillon..... CED and Dillon are the best... =)

Have a great day

Smitty,

Now that you mention it, my "Dillon" says CED on it. Does your new little CED maintain zero or drift around? I have a little Lyman that weighs about .2 heavy for a few minutes, then seems to settle and stay. All my other cheap little ones were constantly floating around. Kept having to zero out. I'm not that picky about powder weight but it was annoying.

My new CED DAA pocket scale drifted quite a bit (specially the hundredth digit) at the range while loading in the wind till I provided it with a good wind break. It works fine now and really like it. My old CED pockets also drifted in the wind to a lesser degree. When I'm loading in the house its solid as a rock. IMHO scales should not drift in the house with no fans on or AC running......

As the title says, do your scales (CED DAA and the like) get affected by fluorescent lighting?

I have 4 flour bulbs in a fan near my reload table and haven't had any problems so far....
