More "Change" from Obama...

Here's the latest one from Mr. Bigshot, aimed at the auto industry.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090519/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_obama_autos

I found the following statement by the president to be quite entertaining.

"And at a time of historic crisis in our auto industry, this rule provides the clear certainty that will allow these companies to plan for a future in which they are building the cars of the 21st century."

Uh, what?

Sounds like more of the Feds. trampling on States right to govern themselves. So, what else is new? The last thing the 'Tax Payer' needs to do is finance research for the Auto Companies.

Smaller cars and higher fatality rates in accidents
smaller cars and less gas purchased then more taxes to compensate for the lost gas-tax revenue...on and on and on:mad:

Yea. Research for the auto companies.
Prolly go to some university. And a bunch of under paid college kids. And liberal do nothing professors.

Why not drill in Wyoming, N. Dakota, and Idaho?????
US Geo. says there is more oil there than Mid. East.
But, Barry's Inter. Sec. canceled all the leases.

Where on earth is the Lib Squad? Please oh please help me understand why I shouldn't say "I told you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo". Socialist POS.

Soooo

we are going to find out how much money the Unions can make with Chrysler. It is reported that the Union' (s) were given 51% of the ownership. I don't know if anyone remembers what happened when that occured in England in the early 70's? England use to own the Sports Car and motorcycle business until the Unions took them over.

History always repeats itself, doesn't it?

I thought we were electing a President not a King or a dictator. When did our congress vote on this stuff? Under what authority does an elected U. S. President issue such a decree?

Just to keep this thread from getting political, at what distance should I place my first wind flag?

Concho Bill, Voter

Aw, no guys, this new legislation will.............

help the taxpayer and auto-buying public. Why, I saw on the news(Where ALL the straight-$**t is dished out), that,"...the new cars will save consumers about $2700 dollars over the car's lifetime, in reduced gasoline purchases....". treMENdous savings for us all....which will be eaten up by:

Higher prices for fuel('cause we ain' sellin' as much, an' the baby need collage munny.)
Inflation...dollar will be worth as much as a nickel, when that was the cost of a Coke.
There will be another manufactured crisis looming, where we'll, "...need to address this for the benefit of humanity as a (w)hole....".

Just think, when we get THERE, we'll actually be THANKful we have those new cars, and the forward-looking "leaders" who had the whiz-dom to put those laws in place, because if we hadn't gotten those new cars, think, just THINK...how much MORE of a financial burden it would have been, if we'd had to pay out that extra $2700 dollars, now, ten years later. Or, words to that effect.;) (why don't we have a smiley that looks like a pile of horse-hockey???)

EVERYTIME The Govenment saves me a nickle, it cost mr a dime.

Nothing new here. Back in 64 when Ford made seat belts and padded dash std equipment, in the Mustang. The safety gurus, in congress, mandated better interiors, new cars were $2500 and went up only $200. avg only 8%, in 1970 we were blessed with unleaded and emission controls, cars went up another 8% cars $3000. The government protecting me from me and you has been mandating feel good legislation.

On Environmental concerns, Reflective solar generation cost 16 cents per kilowatt, Wind generation cost 14 cents, coal 6 cents, and Nueclear less than 3 cents, all of these figures include handling the waste. The only way to reduce our polution of the earth is to stop having children.

We cannot conserve enough energy, to over come the needs of the generations, to come,

I keep wondering what the ranchers and farmers are going to do with 35.5 mpg Smart pickups to haul their livestock and equipment in or behind. Wonder if they'll be able to do what the railroads do and run several in tandem to make it up a hill.

But that's me doing thinking, something that politicians who live in big cities (and elsewhere!) don't seem to be capable of.

This is great stuff.

Having a great time at the Super Shoot. :D

Super Shoot Sunny 85. Lee Hachigan wins LV 100. :D

I get a feeling we are getting a "piling on" by a bunch of folks who have the same political ideas. Mainly, extreme right.

I'm not sure this is appropriate for this forum.

Jump on me if you like, but I have nothing against President Obama.

Let's see where he leads us four years from now.

Let's not use the forum for "whacko" right-wing attacks against the President.

What happened to the moderator? Asleep at the switch?

Montana Pete is right. We seem to be piling on. We can rest assured that there are some who don't like our President just because they don't understand him and his motives. We can be just as assured that there are some who don't like President Obama who do understand him and his motives. You can be also be assured that there some good shooters and good people who like the guy and want to see where he leads us in the next four years.

Anyway, If we don't have anything good to say about anybody, Obama included, let's don't say it here. Understand!

Everyone is warned.

Concho Bill

That's cool Bill.
No personal attacks.

But, I was told by a very Liberal associate. Policy disagreements or "other ideas about policy" are okay with Liberals.

What say you?????

+1 Larry.
Lee Hachigan made the same comment, yesterday.
The Super Shoot is full of Big trucks and SUVs.
Think of all the campgrounds they will have to close.
And National Parks......
