Anyone have any info on this week-ends match at Holton, the Great Lakes Invitational. Looks like Saturday was wet, but today should be nice. I wanted to be there, but once again family got first choice.

Hi Geary:

Missed you this year, but hopefuly you can make it next year. Weather ranged from mid 30's to high 50's, with a mix of sun/clouds/rain/mirage/wind....... The only thing missing was snow, and we were close at one point.

The HV numbers were:

HV 100

1) Joe Krupa .2076
2) Vic Potts .2178
3) Jim Hutchison .2400

Small Group Ted Heindselman .121

HV 200

1) Joe Krupa .1857
2) Dominic (the "Dominator") Grunas .2356
3) Bob Scarbrough Jr. .2522

Small Group Joe Krupa .196

HV Grand

1) Joe Krupa .1967
2) Dominator Grunas .2532
3) Vic Potts .2575

I gave these numbers primarily to show that the two-gun was really "the match that nobody wanted to win" (much like the Tigers and the White Sox in the AL Central race). Sunday afternoon was a holy terror of a shooting experience. If you look at the large gap going into Sunday afternoon that the Man Upstairs gave my heavy gun, you can see just how really messy the conditions were at LV 200. I started off with an 1.457 on the first target in the afternoon and the guys around me were keeping sharp objects out of my reach. Doug Groleau won the yardage with a .3695 aggregate. That means he averaged .739 on each target !!!

What I'm trying to say is that Dominic Grunas is starting to be a real shooting force in the Eastern Region and he deserved this win more so than I did. He shot steady and kept grinding up until the final group. Dom surely deserves the nickname "the Dominator". Keep an eye on him in 2013 in the Eastern Region.

Geary, I shot next to Dom all weekend. He makes it look so easy in the heavy wind. Last relay of the day, I look at his group, it's sweet until I see the shot way out. He lost the two gun in one group! Not taking anything away from Joe but, Dom has won "something" an placed at the top all year!! Great going Dom!!!
