match coming up April 16th-17th.

I would encourage people to come to this range. It's not the "range from hell" like some like to make it out to be. Is it challanging? Sure!! But it is a great place to shoot and Rex Reneau and crew do at great job of running it.
Also this year you can win alot of goodies. There will be bbl's given away, primers, and who knows what else.
It's one of my favorite places to shoot!! I think the bbl's will be given away by drawing for them, not by the winning aggs.

Hope to see everybody there.

I shot in my first registered match at Okie Shooters and started learning to shoot benchrest there and have shot there ever since. I didn't have wind flags, but there were plenty there just like any other place you shoot anymore. Coot's buddy (and everyone else) was running around then with a red afro and yellow shorts. It's really not that much different shooting there than anywhere else that has switching winds. You do have to have some pretty tall wind flag poles. It doesn't hurt to have some that will reach to 15 feet or so. You'll only need them that tall when you go to 200 yards. The match starts at 12 and is typically finished for the day around 5 or 6. It's a 30 bench range and most generally will have one relay with an occasional 2 relays. Well worth shooting if you are within a couple of hundred miles of Luther. To get to the range, go 4 miles North from Hwy 66 on the north side of Luther, 1 mile East then a mile and a half North. The entrance to the range Y's off to the West. Pretty well used to be the end of the road as there was a cow trail road going on North from the entrance to the range.

Wow!!

I hear there are alot of people coming!! Some of the Nebraska and Iowa guys are saying they will be there.
This is going to be really good.

Again, hope to see a good turnout.

Not sure what they have for electric plugs. No 30 amp RV type plugs that I know of and no 50 amp plugs. There is electricity. You may need a pretty long extension cord to get to a plug. E-mail Rex as he would know. rreneau1(at)cox.net.

lutherrrrr

how about room for a 28 ft goosneck? i have a generator on board for david.

do ya still need a concrete bit to drill into the rock to set flags?

I might seem like

rock at times. The dirt can be hard if dry. Most times the flags set nicely, however I do bring a drill just in case. There are some overhanging trees, so I would give Rex a call about getting the trailer in.

If you are coming in on the turnpike there is an exit for Luther that takes you through the town of Luther from the south. Watch the speed limits as the local police like to give tickets.

The Luther match this weekend is Mid. Cont. regional LV and first two legs of Oklahoma state 3 Gun. We will be giving away 2 Krieger barrels by drawing which were donated by Richard Brensing. Thanks again Richard. First place trophies will be awarded. First three places in the grand, 100 &200 agg and small group will be awarded money. We will pay target crew and NBRSA fees out of entry fees and the rest will go back to shooters. The club makes nothing off of these matches. The Luther range is surrounded by thick trees so when the wind gets up , it is an interesting place to shoot. The range will be open on Friday for practice, Scharnhorst will be there signing autographs, he might leave before Sunday. If you don't have tall flags, let me know and we will place you next to someone who does. If you are looking for rooms, Edmond is west about 20 miles on I-35. If you have questions call me. 405-623-6019.

Depends upon whether he rides to the range with Rex or has his own vehicle.

Mike,

Isn't that the truth!

Poor Larry, when we are walking together and visiting I have heard comments "well, that's the long and short of it"

you might want to

bring some wet weather gear from looking at the forecast. Sounds like there might a little breeze from the SE.
I will be a good day!!
