looking to buy a Bore scope

I'm not aware of anything better than the Hawkeye borescopes that Gradient Lens Corp. sells - but if you've got that much to invest, you might consider buying the video system they sell to use with a Hawkeye.

Highley reccomend the Hawkeye pro, get the mirror tube also.

Looks like the Pro Slim .165" is the largest that will do a .22 bore.

This is the one I got, and I consider it the minimum set up. I can't see why you'd need a brighter light than the one with this kit.

This is the kit I have.

I recommend getting a kit with the angled eyepiece. I can't imagine not having it though I've heard some here say it's not an issue.

hawkeye with angled viewer...use mine every time i clean and have learned A LOT! replace the light source with an led mag light. don't let anyone borrow it, but offer to look yourself. a very fine instrument but slightly fragile.
