I got home Saturday without three MTM green 50 round small rifle ammo boxes with 6 Br ammo and Norma brass. I probably left them and a piece of black rubber drawer liner at the announcer's stand or on top of one of the concrete barriers that flank the entrance of the 1K yard line.

If you are keeping up with my stuff better than I am let me know and thanks!

It is amazing what people can forget to pick up . A Farley rest in their carrying case and a backpack with 5 or 6 different sandbags were left at a recent match at Thurmont Md. It actually took me several phone calls , e-mails and a months time to track down it's owner.

Thanks Dick,

Well it wasn't as consequential as a Farley and I think I got them almost to the car. And I did recognize the shortage when I unloaded the car. If you knew me better you might not be as amazed about my forgetfulness. I'm one of several that shot a sighter target for record Saturday. This was my first match at Butner where you are supposed to shoot the adjacent target. And yes, of course, it was the small group of the relay.

Best regards,

Greg

Thanks Steve. Good to see you Saturday and nice shooting all year. In the trailer or in the pits?

Hay, don't feel to bad. I know a guy vary well that drove over fifty miles and remembered he forgot his front and rear rest and the rifle that was setting on them, Gee did I ever feel bad, and was shocked to see they were untouched on my return.

My story doesn't measure up to yours Al. Thanks for sharing. Takes the edge off by decision to go public and swallow my pride or wait till December's match to find out if someone got them for me.

Thanks Jeff.

Just for Ha, ha's, here is a better one.................

This true story was related to me by two good hunting friends of mine up north. (it happened before I got to know them) Anyway, the two of them were heading from NJ to Colorado bow hunting for elk. They were driving one of the parties pick up truck which had been equiped with a matress in the rear "cap". Sometime during the night, while one was sleeping in the back, the other stopped for diesel in eastern Nebraska (the truck had dual tanks). While the driver went in to pay for the fuel, unbeknown, the second party awoke and went to the bathroom. The driver came out and assumed his partner was still sleeping and proceeded to drive almost 400 miles when he finally stopped for coffee and then found hunter #2 was not in the back:rolleyes: Needless to say, that little error cost them an additional 800 miles. Hunter #2 just said: "I knew you would eventually realize I was not there do I have been waiting!!!!"

OK, since We're telling peein' stories...... here's another one. From the early 80's, before cell phones and such.

Some friends of mine were traveling from Minnesota to Montana for a hunt. Left after work, drivin' straight thru...sleepin' on the way. The truck was a big ol' Ford with a stand-up camper. Guy sleeping in the back...... I'll call him Eddie, he MIGHT be reading this! :D:D .......

They stop for gas at an all-nighter and before Eddie gets woke up and dressed they're hitting the road again...... Ed's gotta' pee......

So he goes to the back door in his skivvies and IN A HURRY, he's gonna' reach out and flag the driver, bang on the side, whatever..... he ain't got a plan, just gotta' PEE!

Door opens.

Clutch drops.....

EDDIE drops...........

And the truck roars away into the night...........

He's awake now, standing in the road in his briefs at midnite in November.

SOMEwhere in NoDak......no money, no id, and no pockets to put his hands in......

They tell me he was SOME cold crawlin' out of the bushes to flag them down as they crept back hours later, driving slow enough that they wouldn't miss him!

A friend told me this story, again set before cell phones.

Her uncle arrived, having traveled a considerable distance, to a family reunion, but with neither wife nor explanation for her absence. Several hours later, the missing aunt arrived with a different set of reunion travelers , having been discovered at an interstate rest stop. There was no discussion of the incident at the reunion, nor any discussion at all between between the reunited spouses. The marriage was reported to have survived although one wonders why.

I hope my rifle and ammo are happier to see one another upon their reunion than this couple were.
