Interesting Bullet?

Was just looking at the Sierra Site and it looks like they are going to introduce a 135 Match King boat tail for the 30 cal target rifles,
I Shoot a 30br HV and 30br Vhtr and was wondering if anyone is shooting this bullet in a 1-17twist?

Just playing around on paper it looks like it would equal the Bib 118's as far as drop at 100 and 200 being identical provided that you could 2930fps out of a 135 with a 30br case...might be tough to do, it looks like it might have a slight edge (very slight) in the wind drift dept again if that 2930fps velocity can be reached.

So if anyone is shooting it in a 17 twist what kind of velocity are you getting.

Thanks.

Interesting...but...

I wish they would make that same bullet in a flat base as well. The Match King boat tails do nothing for me at the 100/200 ranges that I shoot. However, a flat base with a pressure ring will allow more seating choices.

The BC is one thing but the quality of the bullet is quite another.

I've had decent luck

With the sierra bullets the one thing that i've learned a long time ago with them though is to sort by bearing length as well as weight and they work pretty good I don't know if they'll be as good as the 125tnt's for a production bullet but never the less interesting, mainly wondering what 30br's are pushing them at as far as FPS, and did you have to slow down your burn rate at all with your powder selection?

Haven't weighed Sierra bullets for a long while..

....But I weighed some about 30 years ago and made note that you could almost use one for a check weight right outta the box. They still wouldn't shoot (group) as well as the hand swaged Malsby bullets I had that varied a grain either way. SIGNIFICANTLY not as well.

Something about the punch length in their automated machinery.... I heard tell...
