What methods can be used to increase the accuracy potential of factory HMR ammo?
I have not tried gauging rim thickness before to sort. Does it work well?
I have a gem scale which resolves to 1/100 of a grain, would weighing the loaded rounds make any sense? My senses believe "no", since weight differences could come from the powder, the brass, or the bullet.
I have thought about pulling bullets, sorting the brass, then refilling the powder amounts accurately. Though I have heard the crimp is very strong and don't know how that may effect the process.
I know some things may provide more trouble than they or worth. I have landed some very tight 0.2" groups at 100 with this bugger in a factory barrel, which has me thinking about methods to better ammo.
