Hawkeye Scope steady rest

How To use a Hawkeye scope to inspect a barrel with a lathe.
All of my parts are made from 7/8" Delrin to support the scope while using it.

The white piece .915 Dia. the same dia. as the green part of the scope to help aline the scope steady rest, the rod is cut from an old Dewey cleaning rod.
(you want the rest support as close to the eyepiece as you can get so not to be flexing the scope or tube.)

With a setup, something like this it is very eazy to stop at any point and come back to it any time also allows you to show the sight spot to a novelist
without fear of damage to the scope
Very Simple idea but once made you will find it very useful. Hope this helps some of you.

Hawwkeye Viewing Barrel Innards

For those of us without a lathe or at the range I use the Bore Guide for borescope stability
One gives up some reach but you are in the center of the barrel.
Thinking of shortening the bore guide but dont have an extra to sacrifice.
