Gun Broker?

I have been trying to sell a couple of handguns (Glock and a S&W 629) in the classifieds on benchrest.com and 6mmbr.com. I realize neither site is ideal for handguns, but wanted to stay in the "family" - so to speak. I have had only a nibble on the Glock and nada on the .44 mag.

So....what about Gun Broker or one of the other gun auction sites? Anyone have experiences with them? I could walk down to my local gun shop and sell them, but I don't need to sell them THAT bad.

your stuff

you might look at specialty pistols.

they seem to move a lot of stuff and free to list there.

good luck

Jeff,

Are you a member of any other shooting forums where they have classifieds??

Gunbroker is a great site for moving iron but it's a little tough for first time sellers with no feedback.

Paul - I am a member on AR15.com, but no auction sites. (I do have 100% on eBay with 165 feedback entries - not gun related, but at least a reference).

thanks for the help. I have an account at gunbroker.com, but have never sold on it. Bought a rifle once a while back.

Jeff,

Having a buy or two and being registered for a while will certainly help some to ease buyers concerns. I would reference your ebay username too. Take lots of pics and note every defect regardless of how petty it is.

Personally, I would try barf.com just to try and save the % gb would charge first. Good luck with the sale.

Try internet forums that are specific to those pistols. You'll have to register but thats the best way IMO. Go to glocktalk for the glock and there is also a smith & wesson forum as well.

Use AUCTION ARMS. They are gun friendly, pro-2nd Amendment, donate to the NRA. They are shooters like you and me. They have instituted a new pay system called "Gun Pal" to counter the anti-gun Pay Pal.

As Paul said, list it, list the little stuff that might become a issue if discovered after the fact and price it to sell, I move a good many items and buy a lot on E-Bay(non gun) and GunBroker, Most people are honest and trustworthy, everything I sell has a 3 day right to return for a full refund(not including shipping). In 250+ deals between the two sights I've had one that didn't pay(lol and I didn't ship) and 3-4 that returned goods for a refund, only one return was buyers remorse, the rest was goods that didn't fit (wood) or wrong year etc,,,,,,the key,,,,,,,,,,,,, PRICE IT TO SELL and treat buyers like you want to be treated,,,,,,,,,,,,,, on my GunBroker sales I charge $40.00 shipping,,,, but,,, I include a plastic gun case and insurance, and be sure you only ship to a FFL and GunBroker has a link to a BATF site to verifiy the FFL ,,,,, in the description list USPS Money Order or Certified Check as the only accepted form of payment

the wind is my friend,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Gunbroker

Jeff,

I used Gunbroker to sell a revolver and rifle last year. It was the 1st time I used Gunbroker to sell a firearm. Everything went smoothly. I have no issues with the transaction or with Gunbroker. I think Gunbroker will give you a very large consumer base who may be interested in your pistols.

Good Luck.

It's a big + 1 for Gun Broker, I've been a member for what seems like forever.....a great place to buy and sell!

GunBroker...

...Jeff, I've bought a shotgun and a scope off GunBroker, and it couldn't have gone smoother. I think they have more "checks and balances" on their website than others (like GunsAmerica, GunsInternational and AuctionArms). Embellish your ad a bit with a clear willingness to communicate to the nth degree and I think you'll have good luck even as a 1st time seller...
