Gun Ban

Don ...

That's probably the most practical plan I've heard so far. Better than passing around emails. You best wait until late spring. I can't imagine anyone in Kentucky or Arkansas participating anytime soon.

Bob,
Getting you to accept whatever they say is exactly what the anit-gun crowd, anti-republic crowd wants. Just because the Supreme Court rules one way or the other doesn't change what the constitution is and that's is the point of the constitution. It's to limit the power of goverment over the people and that includes the Supreme Court. If the Supreme Court ever rules against the intended purpose of the 2nd amendment, then that is the trigger I was talking about. We have a series of protections against goverment and the supreme court is the last in line....when it fails....then it's time for a change. The ability of removing a goverment that no longer follows the constitution is exactly what our founding fathers was giving us with the 2nd. It's not really as much as protecting your firearms as it is letting you know the goverment wants to control you and that is unconstitutional and is cause for removal of the goverment. The people are the goverment...not the goverment making us what they want (sheep). The proproganda machine of the U.S. media is doing the same thing as Hitler was able to do.....influence and control.

I agree 100% with you! I don't know why, but I have family in KY that has fairly huge collections of guns (about fifty per person for some relatives!) and they enjoy their firearms and it's a way of life. I grew up there and enjoyed it, too. For some reason, some of them voted for Obama because they thought he was being supported by the gun manufacturers as a trade to not ban guns. For example, if they didn't support him, he'd ban their guns. If they did support him, then he wouldn't ban the guns. So many of my kin (not me!) believed that and voted for him. The problem is that he has elected many to office that are very much against gun ownership, and with the balance of power in their favor, whatever comes up for vote will likely go through. IMO, ever since Clinton was in office, I think that the contemporary Democratic view is actually more socialist (Communist!!!!) than anything else. I don't mean to say that voting Democrats are like that, as many are voting for a party that used to be conservative decades ago. But the new Democrats would just assume control the country and give government absolute power and tip their hat to the public everyone once in a while. If we acted on our rights to bear arms for the original intent, don't think for a second that the current Administration wouldn't enforce marshall law or something. Some of them are the most un-American, unconstitutional people I know of, and it's hard to believe some of them have office.

BTW, I apologize if I offended any of my friends here (well, not really!), but it is a forum and we're allowed to express our opinions. The thead may be in the wrong section, but it important stuff.

Seriously look at infowars.com
you will fear the government!
Im really unsettled

Slick Willie

when Bill Clinton is appointed to the united nations
and his world wide gun ban becomes reality, would
you believe it then

The 2d Admendment means exactly whatever a majority of the Justices on the Supreme Court rule that it means. No more, and no less. We as citizens do not get to decide what the Constitution means, or says, or what we think the founders meant it to say. The Supreme Court will, and does, determine what is constitutional, and what is not.

I personally think the 2d Amendment gives "The People" the right to keep and bear firearms, not just the national guard or milita. What I think doesn't matter a hill of beans. What does matter is what 5 or more supreme court justices think. If they rule that there is no constitutional right for the private ownership of firearms, then that is the law.

A majority of the people elected their congressional representatives. If these voters were worrried about, or cared about, gun rights they would have elected gun friendly congress people. If a majority of congress is anti-gun, than a majority of the electorate is to blame for electing them. My congressmen is anti-gun, I didn't vote for him, but a large majority of the voters in the district did. When he ran, he never claimed to be pro-gun, and both the TSRA and the NRA gave him low scores. A majority of the districts voters did not care about his stand on gun owership. Those are the facts.
Bob

The 2nd Amendment does not "give" us the right to keep and bear arms. It "protects" our right as free men to keep and bear arms. There is a huge difference and most misquote it or misunderstand. The "Framers" knew that right exisited already. They knew is was our "God given" right as free men. The price that was paid for birthing our great Nation was fresh on their mind and If you look at the Bill Of Rights you will notice that the amendments don't give us anything, they simply protect the rights (rights we already have)of free men from the Government.

Hope this helps.

Tony

If they have tried to pass bills before that would ban almost all guns then why would anyone think it will stop when they now control congress and have the White House too.

Bob, your "probably" bothers me. Ask the citizens of Great Britian and Australia about the safety of "probablies".

... just my $0.02

And Belgium... In some of our cities left-wing politicians made it illegal for gun shops to advertise what they are selling. Their bussiness has to be completely concealed from any viewers on the street. We didn't think it would happen to us either

It seems to me that in recent elections that the results show there are more of "them" and less of "us". By that I mean the way we think and vote as gun owners.I think this trend will continue in the future unless the new president fails miserably. If this doesn't happen, I am not for sure we will ever see a white, Republican president again. And remember the president appoints his cabinet and the Supreme Court Justices so things tend to become a little lopsided when it comes to making laws.
I don't consider myself to be racist but when our leaders grant amnesty, and they will, to the illegal immigrants in this country who do you think they will be voting for?
Enough doom and gloom. We have our guns for now so enjoy them. We will do whatever necessary to preserve the right to keep them.
