go gauge ?

Thanks for the info Fitch.
I am having problems with a Cooper in 20VT and my gunsmith I know has 17 & 221 fireball reamers & gauges but no 20VT. Was hoping they were the same. Thanks again.

I believe you are referring to the 20Vartarg. It is not the same as tyhe Fireball. There is also a 20 Vartarg Turbo that is not the same.

Hey Noth Fork, I've got a Cooper.... do you have some insight into getting them fixed?

I just sent a Cooper Pheonix back in a 6.5 Creedmoor because the chamber was too tight and a couple of other things I was not pleased with.I called and talked to them before sending it back. When I told them of the peoblems they told me to send it back.Supposedly they had a person that was not turning out quality work and we were told he no longer works there and they thought they had fixed the problematic guns that he had touched! So if it is new give them a call.I have called a few times with different questions and they are very nice people and a pleasure to talk to.

My problem is it won't chamber a case. I took new 221 brass, ran it in to the 20VT sizing die and tried to chamber it. No luck. Bolt stops appx 1/8" before being all the way forward. Called Cooper was told the reamer neck size was .232 Checked my loaded rounds .292 neck size. Then tried a new 17 Fireball case, bolt went all the way forward but wouldn't cam over. There were marks on the side of the brass when taken out. The bolt on a empty chamber is stiff to close. Hey Al, do you have a 20VT reamer ?

I would send the gun back to cooper with a couple of the case's and have them fix the gun They should pay for the shipping. There 20 var tag chamber is 232. They stand be hind there work.
