Digital calipers w/remote readout....

"Hey Now! Don't take that the wrong way..... I wasn't CALLING you "steenkin Ron"......it's an expression, a comment on the state of affairs. And noting that you were RIGHT, as in CORRECT..... If I were British I mighta' said "too steenkin' right, Ron!" instead but hey...... If It sounded like I called you names I'm sincerely sorry."

No offense taken, Al. I kind'a liked it. I may start signing every post, "Steenkin Ron"!

Can you post the link to the remote display? Definitely way cool.

Steekin Regards,

Steenkin Ron. ?

Steenkin' RIGHT then Ron...... (if'n I knew you were a Pratchett fan I'd continue some. But I don't. So I won't)

Best way to find one of these pertickler instruments is to search "811-1 digital readout" I found them from ebay to Amazon (10 bucks more) and at 3-4 little import/export sites on the net. I got mine from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/TTC-Axis-Digi...&qid=1463002980&sr=8-1&keywords=811-1+digital

I also just ordered one of the (correctified, absolute) iGaging units like yours to see does it work..... and a teensy-weensy soldering kit intending to cannibalize some of the 35.00 DRO units and weld some up.

I also found a wireless one, it's got a wireless sending unit kinda' like a flash drive and a 2X3 box receiver to a comp (phone) that I'll try it before commenting....

BUT

Last nite I cut in the tenon and bolt recess on a 700 faster than ever before :) I mounted the OTHER unit, my first try above, onto my crossfeed using magnets (easily removable/cleanable) which is the other readout in the pics, and with the DRO on my table the only measurements I took were to check my work.

It just makes it funner........ and on a cheesy lathe with a couple hunnerd bucks of DRO's. Basically, on my G4003G I've now got DRO on every part that moves.

If It Moves I Track It!

More funner

To my helmet.......

I just aint sure I want to start a habit of wearing my motocycle helmet for fitting barrels....

ooops..... that din't make much sense ;)

I was s'posed to have a liddle cartoony thing in there showing my motorcycle/bluetooth/helmet/headsup Sena setup but it didn't work....

Maybe Google Goggles????

So Ron........the steenkin iGaging Absolute Zero Caliper DOES NOT plug into the 811-1 unit. It has a 5 lead electrical connection, the 811-1 unit only has 4

NICE smooth caliper though!
