What do all you professionals think is the best copper solvent out there. I am now using shooters choice, I do not think much of it and I am looking for the best out there. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not even an amatuer but I love my Sweets 7.62. Cleans up my custom and factory barrels real quick with very little soak time like some others have.

depends on several factors

old timer, i use a mixture of sc and kroil to get the coal out of the bore first. then the next step for copper removal depends if it is a factory barrel, custom barrel and length of time alloted to complete the chore.
if time is not an issue, like deer rifle after season closes i use sharp shooter's wipe out foam with the accelorator. leave it soak over night and patch it out. repeat this process till your patches come out without a blue tint. then patch bore with montana extreme bore conditioner for storage. some dont like the foam as it is somewhat messy and substitute patchout for wipe out.
if time is an issue i clean the coal out like above and use a solvent specific copper cleaner like bore tech copper remover or montana extreme 50 bmg. that usually gets the copper out quickly on custom barrels. some factory barrels with copper mine fouling may take some time to remove all the copper even with these strong copper cleaners. if that senerio happens i usually revert to JB and kroil on a patch rolled over a worn out smaller caliber brush. short stroke it like you brush your teeth. several of these passes usually remove copper from the bore. in my opinion there is no one copper remover that is a cure all. they all work great given their differing working parameters. hope this helps, Greg Moyer

For match barrels (lapped) I find Butch's Bore Shine all that I need. For anything else, that is rougher, I like Wipe-Out foam, once for an hour, and if a lot of blue comes out, a second time for several hours, or overnight, and then I patch out dry, and then give it a few strokes with Butch's and a bronze brush ( and then patch clean and dry). I also use Wipe-Out on my good barrels when I have time (cleaning at home)...good stuff.

copper solvent

Old Timer: Began using "Shooters Choice" in the mid 80s' when it was called "Marksmans Choice". It seems to have lost some of its' cleaning ability recently, and last Fall I switched to "Butchs Bore Shine". Very effective and I seem to be spending less time cleaning. Did S.C. change their original formula? If I get some stubborn copper fouling in less than perfect barrels, soaking for a while, then brushing will usually remove it all. By no means a professional: after 48 yrs.: I'm still learning.

Right now I use the old GM top engine cleaner for the carbon, then oil or alcohol to make sure the GM is gone, then Sweets to see if there is any copper under the carbon.

I have tried all sorts of things...

I see some really neglected barrels in my shop occasionally... some are so fouled a pilot from a reamer would not enter the muzzle before cleaning...

I first use J.B. Bore Paste for about 50 strokes which quickly removes the majority of the fouling, and then any copper solvent with ammonia ... that has been the quickest way for me...

I Like TM Solution

Because of its ability to get the carbon out, I use Tom Meredith's TM Solution. I have used most of the products listed above and they are good, but the TM is the best carbon remover that I have found. James

Montana X Treme

Has any one tried Montana X Treme Copper Cream and copper killer

Warthog1134 works the best on carbon and copper that I have used in +30 years of trying about every cleaner known to man...

From start to finish I use it and it only!!
With my match barrels, I use a procedure that in 10 to 12 passes will have them clean as new.

Happy Shooting

Kg-12

I could not locate any Warthog, so I can not testify on it. However I did manage to get my hands on some KG-12. After several passes with a pointed jag, I got so so results, nothing to jump up and down about.:( Then I used a bronz brush soaked with this miricle in a bottle and chased it with a clean patch and hallalujah I believe, I believe.

You fellas got to get ya some of this stuff :):):)

I still keep an old bottle of regular Hoppe's#9 around for bad or neglected factory barrels. I cork the breech and fill the barrel full of Hoppe's, then cap with a piece of foil and set the gun aside for a couple of days. Works without all the scrubbing. I pour the used material back into the old bottle for re-use and occasionally add a little fresh stuff.
