Congratulations Sam! It looks like you potentially have another 600 yard record. This one is the light gun group and score aggragates. The present group agg which I believe was shot at last months match was 1.636".............Sam posted 1.601" along with a 197 score.
Now listen to this.............Sam sold one of his guns to a fellow shooter who broke the agg. last month. That shooter then sold the gun to Blake Daniels who this month went on to place second to Sam but also shot a .9 something screamer with the rifle:D
For those who want to compete with the best of the best??????????????? Come on down to Piedmont if you think you are good! Saturday was hot but the wind was not an overly big problem............................for the most part:)

I found out early this morning, and have been waiting to see this. Congrats to a super competitor and heck of a nice guy to new shooters.

Good shootin SAM.....are you sellin all your old wore out stuff to new shooters ...hahahaha....enjoy every day of your shooting....Roger

Great job Sam, Keep setting that bar higher and higher.
Sure would like to see the Best of the Best come up to Bridgeville DE this winter and shoot. We sure could learn a thing or two from you all and in trade we can show ya how to shoot small groups in 15 - MPH winds or better with temps in the 30's. I know Joel had a good time when he was up. Your all welcome. Check the schedule for our 2 day shoots. There's one in Oct and one in March. They also provide a meal that is part of your registration as well as target pullers. $35.00 for the first gun and $25.00 for the second.

Great shooting Sam, Congratulations on your records!!

And the bar gets raised yet once again.

Richard

Thanks guys for the congrats! That means alot to me. Brain, I might take you up on that offer one day. Rich, thanks for starting the thread and the congrats! I am not trying to be rude and correct you, but the record that was set last month was HG score of 198 by Rookie, Eric Wilson. The records I potentially broke is the LG group and LG score agg. (1.601 and 197) like you said. The prior LG group agg was actually shot in 2008. It was a 1.636 agg, by Rodney Wagner's son, Paul Wagner. Paul had set the previous record in 2008. Paul also set the LG single target group at that same match, a 0.711. Not bad for a high school boy! Wish he was still shooting with us! We miss his company. I guess his priority is girls right now. Not trying to correct you Rich, just wanting to give Paul credit for a record that has lasted 3 years. Longer than most in our game. Richard, there is no doubt in my mind you would be setting records like crazy if you could shoot here in NC in the dog days of summer!

Rich,
As close as I keep up with the records, I had forgotten exactly what the prior record was and who shot it. Larry Isenhour had was the one that reminded me of the history, then I remembered it. Like I said, I just wanted to give Paul credit for a long standing record. See you next month! Samuel

Congrats to you Sam. It sure was a hot, miserable day to shoot so well with all the mirage. We had a good match that went smoothly and quickly. We finished 30 minutes earlier than last month and we had some first time visitors shooting with us. These guys were from Mount Airy and said they will be back. It will not take too many more shooters to have three full relays.

I want to thank you and Larry for what you are doing to help Hunter get started. He had a great time and was pleased with where he placed considering his lack of experience. I guess I need to start looking for a shooting iron of his own.

Sam,

Congratulations buddy! Nobody works any harder at it than you - you deserve it! If this is the same Dasher I think it is, you might want to sit it in the far back corner of the safe like you did the old orange BR. Just drag her out for the big shoots - I know you have a couple more laying around you could be shooting : )

Mike

I see a reference to a Dasher but I am curious what cartridge Sam actually used - 6mm BR, 6mm BR-DX, 6mm BRX, 6mm Dasher, something else?

Robert

Mike, Thanks for the congrats. and thanks for all you have done for me! We miss you!
Yea, that is the rifle and same old Krieger. The same Dasher you reamed out from a bad chambered 6BR. It took it a few hundred rounds before it got dialed in, but has been humming ever since. I have not shot it since the Nationals last year. Believe it or not, that ammo was some mixed up left overs from the Nationals I was shooting up so I could reload it for this years Nationals. I got really worried when I knew I was close to the record and had to shoot partially blown out new brass on my last record target. Just goes to show you, great barrels (and great chambering) ain't real picky. Your right, that barrel will not get to see light much anymore. It will be in semi-retirement. That one Krieger owns all the IBS LG 600 yard records now! That is what was so sweet! Samuel
