Comments requested on the New Bore Scope by Snap-On

I was looking at the new Snap-On Digital Borescope 7/32" (.2188") flexible cable 36" to 120" and was wondering if anyone has tried this new unit Model#BK6000?

Does this have a 90 degree visual feature, like the solid tube scopes with the mirrow attachment?? If not, it would probably not be as affective as the current scopes being used in barrel inspection..........jackie

From what I am reading it does dual duty side and to the front via a split screen.
Can't get a lot of data off the web site.

I don't know if there is a smaller one available, but the video mentioned an 8.5mm lens....too big to fit down most short range BR bores.
Otherwise it looks pretty cool.

I have one of the earlier ones that came out, about 2 yrs. old now, will not fit down my 6.5 or 7mm barrels, but does an exellent job of inspecting the chamber area and throat, I think I paid 400.00 for it off the truck, was much cheaper than a good borescope. The you tube video does not do it justice, the picture displayed on the screen of the tool is awesome. If it is out with a 5.5mm head, i may have to just trade up to one.

I have a VO Scope (model VTXX-4LED) made by Visual Optics. The probe is flexible fiber optic and 4.3 mm in diameter and 18 inches long. It came with a 90 degree mirror, which I have not had a use for yet. They do make models with longer probes, but this is all I need to see the full length of any barrel I have. I have had the chance to look at the same barrel using this scope and also a Hawkeye. I could see no difference. At the time I bought mine they advertised that the VO scopes had more fibers in the same diameter than any other scopes of this type. I cost me less than 300.00 delivered and ready to use, from an online tool retailer. I forget which one it was now.

The only drawback I have noticed so far is that the flexible shaft tends to flop around in larger bores, but wrapping some masking tape around the shaft near the end solved that problem. The one I have is for direct viewing via eyeball only. Again, VO makes other models that can attach cameras, etc....
