Chair or Stool for BR shooting?

Joined a new range that has very nice rifle range facilities and benches, but the seats are very rickety and they rock back and forth as you sit on them.

I spend a lot of time trying to balance the seats and wedge my knees against the bench while shooting. This may not be contributing to the best shooting on my part.

It seems like I need to purchase an adjustable seat/stool that I can bring with me to the range and use instead of the ones provided.

Is there a widely-accepted seat that is widely used for this purpose?

thanks,

Tim

Do a google search of "drummer throne".

They are the small stools that drummers use. They have fold up legs, and extendable main post and a removable to so they can be stowed away for storage or transport.

Try to get yourself one that has a hydraulic cylinder that allows movement up and down with the throw of a lever that is directly under the seat. Very nice stool and adjustable for different bench heights

I use an office chair with four caster legs and a lever under the seat that makes moving the seat up and down easy. I removed the back and arm rests to make it compact for transporting. You might look around for a used inexpensive office chair. I paid about $25.00 for mine. Works great !!!

All of the above suggestions are good but I know you are a person who likes to do things the "Best" way. The Sinclair Shooting Stool is big, hard to carry easy to forget (but then your memory is younger than mine) and the only way to go in the long run.

If you have a Sam Ash music store or any music store in your area, ask them about a TAMA brand drummer Thorne model HT-730. Adjustable and comfortable.
