Bullet stabilization question

Well, not too many groups at 500 yards, but lots of them at 100 yards showed the improvement before I went to 500 to confirm the improvement there. I fired 200 un-turned rounds during load development and had a hard time getting groups in the .3s. There would be some tight 4 shot groups with a flyer all the time. None of the cases had been fire formed yet, so perhaps I was expecting too much. Anyway, once I discovered the consistent .003 runout and turned the necks, the 100 yd. groups shrank to consistent 2s & 3s with an occasional .17. These are all still virgin cases, not fire formed. The first four fire formed groups are indicating even further improvement. Yes, I know about having a firm foundation for good groups. That's why the gun has a custom action with a broughton competition barrel. I did considerable research after this experience to see if anyone else was turning Lapua cases and I found that they are, so I am not the only one who believes that they can be improved.
