I polish the action first, then I sand blast it with the mesh in place, then remove the mesh and wire brush it with a soft stainless wheel at 500 RPM, then I blue it.

You would have to get smaller mesh to do smaller diameters like a bolt.

how much does a patent cost over there?

I spent $5000 for a Remington 700 from him so the patent probaly cost about $4950.
Does anybody know how he got the nickname? Maybe an old girlfriend?

Butch---no he did not. I did a few at his shop when he had it and have been doing all of my own the last few builds. One of the few things he let's me do lol.

I have been experimenting with snakeskin finish. I am using glass beads of the AG size (finest at 130-170 mesh). pressures of 45-50 psi. 5-6 inches from the part.
I am experiencing some overlapping (or underlapping ) at the mesh lines. I will try other pressures and distances away.
Any suggestions or techniques to use.

I do all my bullets that way. Makes the HBN stick better that way. I am also working on a way to put dimples on them like golf balls. Makes then fly straighter.

Try rounding the end of a 1/16" pin punch.
