I've got a Hogue rifle stock, rubber, probably 5yrs old have been using it for a test mule. It's not beat up per se, just not new looking. I've got a guy wants it, as-is, on a rifle build. I don't HAVE to do anything to it..... but I'd like to rub it back to looking even all over.

Anyone ever polished a Hogue?

al,
Would it be considered polishing a turd...per se?!!

Automotive Tire Black?

Any wax/polish will embed into the rubber & create more work than what it's worth.

Guessing

Yeahh, probably, the turd part :) But this is an aluminum chassis stock I've milled out to accept a 1.450 Stiller TAC action and it's shooting really well. It's quite stiff.

I'm not going to put anything on it, I'll try some 2000 grit wet-or-dry paper

DOT 5 brake fluid is what I use when my test mule Hogue starts looking particularly bad.

The Hogue stocks with aluminum like the one Al has are often over looked. I think they make for a dam fine varmint rifle stock. Best part is they are usually pretty cheap. Good on you al, im sure the fella receiving it will enjoy the heck out of it. Lee
