circumstances financially, but its much simpler to buy a powder for a load you REALLY like in at least 16lbs, or better 32lbs at a time, of the same lot# to cut down on rechecking so often for lot variances. I used to do that, I USED to think 8s would last forever w/a .22-250. Boy, was I in for an awakening!! ;):D

I agree; that thought crossed my mind earlier this week and with the primer shortage it just makes sense to stock up on everything if you can.

No one else touched on the fact that you used 06 military brass to make the 270 loads. How much neck clearance you have? And it looks like your loads are 2-3 grains over published data from Hodgdon for regular brass.

I was using a RCBS powder scale and it was late at night so you could have something! To the chap who suggests the load was a bit hotter than what modern loading manuals list, yes you are correct but it was worked up carefully from well below and no obvious pressure sighns observed apart from very slight primer cratering.:D
