Gentlemen,
I want to start over, with my own gear and set up.
My current 'smith' has gone bad, so i need a new set up and need control over what i get given.
I am looking for ideas as to what to order in a 6PPC reamer, i am wanting a .262" neck.
Some reamer drawings would be appreciated.
Good shooting!

The JGS 1045 is as close to a standard as you will find, and I believe it is as good as anything.

JRB finding the right reamer can also depend on what bullets you plan on using. when i switched to the berger coulum bullets with the short 790 j4 jackets i went with a short freebore like 40 0r 45. That short freebore also works good with my 66gr BT bullets also. With the longer 825 jackets 68gr bullets i like a freebore that is about 60-70. all my reamers are Hugh Hendreckson. I dont know where you are located but in arezona you can give gary ocock a call, he does barrel work for me also. 1-623-398-8337, Hope you find a good smith that knows about benchrest. Gabe

I would think again about the 262

Best move I ever made was to switch to 270 neck.

Easier to neck turn, hardly a mark from ejecting, and seldom dent when you drop them.

And, I have never had a split neck with 270.

Rob.
