7.5 x 55 G11 = 65 gr. to the top of the case neck.

.308 Win. = 53 gr. to the top of the case neck.

Who cares? It shows the relativity.

For years I had half a can of BLC-2 I used to use as a quick & dirty means of checking relative powder capacity of cases, usually of different manufacture or vintage. It packed nicely & gave reasonably consistent results.

It was a damn shame they stopped importing it into Australia. It was even better in my .222 magnum.
 
When we talk about case capacity it is usually in grains of water to the top of the neck with a fired primer in place. Nothing to do with power or what kind, just a convienent way to get relative capacity.
