6mm 1:8 twist Bullet

What bullet would you choose for 1:8 trist 6mm BR.

I bought some 107 SMKs and some 95 amax bullets to try.

I would also recommend the looking at the 105 AMax and the 95 Berger VLD. The 105s are a lot cheaper than the 107SMK. The 95 Bergers shoot excellent in my 6mm Rem.

I went with the 107s and Varget an instant hit for the rifle, and shot good groups at 100 m. will walk it out from there
 
Bergers

My 6mmBR with a 1:8 twist Krieger really loves the Berget 105 BT bullets. My wife's 6mmBR with a 1:8 twist Hart barrel loves the Sierra 107 MatchKings.
 
I had the BR out yesterday and am really excited about it. I shot my best 5 shot group ever, perfect conditions, 0 wind overcast and cool.

But the gun came alive with Varget and 107s smks

Likes 95s Amax as well with varget
 
Berger 108 BT

.035 Three shot group at 100yds working up loads for a 6-6.5X47 IMP I developed.

The two bullets I have been able to make work really well in every 6BR and 6X47 I have are the 107's and the Berger 105 VLD's.

I have NEVER been able to get Lapua 105 bullets to work in ANYthing, which stuns me... they are the most consistent bullets I've seen. Amax are hit and miss; as you know, the CLinch's et al are not available in Canada... no comment.

30 grains of Varget with Bergers and Sierras 15 thou in the lands, and if you aren't shooting bug holes, throw the gun away.

In my 8 twist Krieger 6BR I use Lapua Brass, 105 Berger VLD, 30.6 grains of Varget, CCI450, .010" in the Lands, the neck of a loaded round measures .268" and I use a .266” bushing.

I used 107SMK's, 30.8 RL15 and F205M's last year until November when I switched to the above mentioned load. There’s no comparison between the two. From what I’ve seen, the 105 Berger has been the best bullet out there in terms of availability and quality for the 6BR. The others are great bullets but, hard to get when your out.
 
Hello, Has anyone shot the new 111g Dtacs, Should they be safe from blow up in a 1 in 8 twist 243 running at 2950fps range.

What freebore is rec. for these 105-108 BT's

My 8 twist McGowen likes the 105 A-Max and 105 Bergers, with the A-max getting slightly better groups.

My barrel is such that anything over 27.5 grais of 4895 or Varget spits the groups at 100 yards and the bolt is heavy to lift. What's up with that?:eek:
