54 match vs. 54 super match

I think they have been sold a couple of times. They have not been the same since Geoffrey Kolbe sold the company some years back. It looks like they are back up and running again with some new owners.
Back when they were in Scotland they made some fine rimfire barrels I have one on a Hall action that still shoots great. I just do not know if the barrels are made as well and lapped like they were.

Hi Tim. What's wrong with the barrels, I need to know.

Not many decent replacement barrels available here down-under or I would settle for a Lilja.

They have'nt been top flight in some time.
Match grade barrels do make it down there with some patience.

doghunter,

Are you a member of the Aussie forum at:
http://www.benchrestbulletin.net/drupal/forum/3

If not, those guys can give you some leads as to purchasing some of the barrels manufactured here in the USA that might allow you to have more and better choices.

I have no idea on the current quality of Border barrels because I haven't seen or tested any of them since Butch Hongisto imported, smithed, and sold quite a few of them many years ago.

Good Luck,
Landy

Aussie rimfire target barrels

Thanks for the advice. I found somebody local who imports Lilja barrels and I am going to visit them as I also want to order a custom 6mm benchrest rig .
