hey guys' just wanted to know if anyone has any info on 260 rem. as a hunting round using 100 or 120gr. ballistic tips. any help would be great.

First of all welcome to THE BOARD!!

With 120gr Ballistic Tips, try Varget. Start around 38 grains and work up. Imr 4350 also works well. Start at 42 grains and work up. I use an OAL of 2.882":D

You will...

Probably get a lot more answers from the "factory/hybrid" forum on this site. But one of my favorite loads for my 260 Model 7 Rem is 41.5gr of V150, with a 95gr Hornady Vmax or a 100gr NBT. This gives a velocity of 3010 and a half inch group at 100yd. This maybe different for your rifle.

260 rem.

thanks for the help. I am still learning how to navigate here on this site so please be patient with me. I have a rem 700 S/A that I have rebarreled in 260 and have not had alot of luck with consistanty. Have tried 4350, 4320, 4064, and reloder 19. I think seating depth is not quiet right, but I will keep hacking. Any more info would be nice. Thanks again.

The 100 grain Nosler BT and 2209 (H4350) with 47.5 does 3000fps and 49 does 3130 in my M7, you should find a sweet spot there somewhere. These bullets perform really well on wild pigs at this speed. Seat them long enough to just fit your magazine.

see ya on the factory/hybrid forum, this is for short range benchrest and 260 is not a cartridge that is used for that.

260 help

Thanks mike A. Someone said see ya on factory/hybrid site. Not sure what this is. As I said before I am new to this whole computer thing and am trying to understand as I go along. Not sure how to get there but I will try. As for seating as for as mag. will allow does this mean accuracy is generally better than say .050 futher back? lcdc.

In the box at the top of the page click on the heading at the left "Benchrest Central Forums" This will show the different categories, Factory is toward the bottom of the list.
