2011 IBS Nationals

Help!
Can anyone tell me how many days and what days the actual match will be?
Have to put in for vacation.

Thanks Creeker and One Flyer,You know the first pic, It looks like the shooter is on the same plateau as it comes in from the right but the second pic does looks like you are shooting down a bit which is cool but was just curious. The range I practice at here in Tx is down hill too ,So if I am 19 inches up to get on there I guess I could go with that [lol].Looking forward to shooting there. Thanks again guys. I second Dan's post, what will the shooting schedule be? 3 target agg?if correct? Will we shoot on friday?
Continuing Jay's post- how many campers can be set up?I'm bringing mine. And THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION- can we drink beer at the range-after it is closed of course.

OK guys, I'm not the match director, in fact I don't below to the club, just shoot there. You can find match infomation & contact numbers to answer your questions here:
http://whitehorse.thomassmith.us/index_files/Page797.htm

I'm not sure I understand the question: How far below the tables are the 1000yd targets? Pictures can be deceiving but the targets are not 75 feet below bench height. You can ask this question at the contact number, we spoke of this at the last match.

Joe,
Are you sure we shoot all three days?If so how many targets each day.In the past Monday was always a make up day if it was needed.

Maybe somebody with actual knowledge of the match, duration, regulations, course of fire could chime in???? I think Creeker is a casual shooter at the WV club that wanted to publicize the match a bit and now is called upon to be the match spokesperson.

It says the Match is Saturday, Sunday and Monday. September 3,4,5. Should be two targets per day. or they may want one target left for Monday, so we can get out early.

I just booked a room at the Super 8 in Bridgport. They said they had lots of rooms. I am not sure I am going, but it is eaiser to cancel a room than to find one at the last min. if I decide to go.

Now, from the moocher in me.........anyone have a place on a table under a canopy I could squeaze into??? I am going to travel light as possable so I don't have to bring a truck. I promise to take at least one shower during the week!! ;) I will need space for two guns.

Thanks,
Tod

Tod you are welcome to share with us .We have 2 roofs and 3 people so far. If you decide to do it you might bring a small table for your set up.It will be me and my buddie frank and Henry Childs. Tim in Tx

Stan Taylor told me at Williamsport that they would shoot three targets. They would shoot as many targets as they can per day with the hope that they can get most of the shooting done on Sat and Sun and only shoot one class Monday morning and get the match wrapped up by noon. Perhaps Stan can chime in here and clear this up.

It would be nice to know whats going on for the Nationals so we can plan the trip, any help with details out there???

I have been in discussion with the directors of White Horse about the nationals and we are going to do our very best to get this shoot in on saturday and sunday and monday is emergency only in case of bad weather. We're working on a strategy to make everything run fast and smooth because if i remember correctly, we had approximately 130 shooters in 2008 at OH. We didn't have any problem getting it done. That was 3 targets also. So rest assured, that we are gonna get it done.

any body know how many shots per target in light gun [5 like white horse] or [10 like williamsport]

IBS Light Gun is 5 shots per target. This is the IBS Nationals so it is 5 shots.
NBRSA also shoots 5 shots per target in LG, a.f.i.k. only Williamsport and it's affiliate Missoula shoot 10 in LG.

Gentlemen
I had a brief discussion with the match director at white horse and he said that there intention is to do the match in two days depending on the amount of registrations of shooters if they have to use monday due to registration of to many shooters that is a last resort he said there is something on there website in reference to that.

if you get more than 117 shooters, it will require 10 relays per LG 10 For HG and 10 more for a second target for LG
same for day 2, only HG then LG then HG again
if you can average 3 relays per hour, thats 10 hours of continuous shooting with no breaks for 2 days in a row
gotta see that to believe it
what kind of supermen are going to work the pits
i've been shooting at whitehorse for close to 10 years, highpower, fclass and ibs , don't think its possible
but i'll be there to try

If the match directors limit the set up time between relays there shouldn't be a problem, saying that I mean give a "5 min set up" then start the relay promptly. That would give you -5 min set up + 6 min sighter-(a average of 5 min to shoot records, maybe shorter time, maybe alittle longer but use 5 min as average=16 min per relay ) That would be 8 hours if everything went well throw a 1/2 hour lunch in and some delays I would say 9 hrs max.
How many benches does Whitehorse have?
We ran 25 relays with 12 benches in 8 hrs with an hour for lunch at Pa last weekend. And there was 10 shots fired for record every relay,so 5 shots IBS should be a bit quicker.
just my 2cents.
Like Eric said ,would be nice to know what was going on ,not should be able,or depending on, maybe put a limit on # of entries .
