Is that the parking area down by the brown building?

I'm not good at seeing brown. The building with what appears to be a long bench is the Bullseye range. On out on the upper flat is the public range to 100 yards. The 1000 yard matches are fired from the level the picture was taken. During the long range matches the rest of the range is closed as the bullet path is over the Bullseye range & public range. Here's another view from the bench to the 1000 yard targets.

And a zoomed look.

You may place you shelters as close as possible to the firing line. You may drive to that place to unload but parking will be 'bout a 100 yards away. There are staging benches just behind the firing line for the on deck shooters. I'll try to get more pictures up next week as I'm leaving to shoot The Harry Jones 1000 yard event tomorrow.

Hi Joe....the range is located off I-79 exit #115 (state route 20 south ).....and the city of Clarksburg (pop. aprox 25,000--big for in these parts!!) is at exit #119 (4 mi north) ,,,,there are several Motels at that exit, and the next exit, and lots of places to have breakfast and evening meals....(the usual steakhouses and burger joints...)....I hope this helps answer your questions...I am not one of the regulars at the range but live aprox. 110 mi west of there in the Parkersburg area....The range is not used to having a match of this magnitude and encoutering people from all over the nation,,,I know how much, and what, people wander about when traveling to a new range,,,Im sort of a roaming Knome myself..hahaha........Roger

Please note this will be a holiday weekend. The chances of finding a place in Buckhannon is slim to none. The motels are filling fast from what I understand. If you are interested in coming I would be calling the towns round about now for a room. I'm not a member there, only a shooter & drive nearly a 150 miles myself. Here's a list of places from the webpage.

Creeker: I think Oneflyer wants to see the cleaning area and how far away do we park.

Joe Salt

Staging area will be here. These tables will be covered.

This is looking from the firing line to were you may set your shelter. This area will be marked off in 12'X12' blockes with one 12 ft. street from the unloading area to the firing line. Between each row of shelters will be an 8' walkway.

There will be a 6 wheel gator to haul your stuff from the unloading area up the 12 ft. street. After unloading your stuff you will move you ride to the parking area & walk to your shelter. Hope this helps & again I'm just a shooter.

In this picture I'm standing 'bout were the vehicles will unload. You can see the firing line. There will be 4 rows of shelters on the right & 2 rows on the left. I looked at a drawing of the lay out yesterday but took no picture.

Creeker sir ,May I ask how far below the tables are the 1000yd targets? Thanks Tim in Tx

Tim- If you look at the second set of pix that Creeker posted you can see the 1000 yard targets. I'm going to guess they are at least 75' below the targets, not benchtop height.
