4K is a little high. Take 30 $100 bills. put 20 in one pocket 5 in another and 5 in your wallet. Go see the lathe then pull out the first 20 bills. Discuss it, they will say no way, then pull out the other 5 bills. You should be able to buy it then. If not, talk a while longer and break out the other 5 from your wallet. Money talks. Green backs make deals. You'll get it. If not, walk, waving the money in the air, last chance you'll say. They may ask you to come back. I've done this so many times (guns, equipment, motorcycles, boats, etc.) I could't count in the last 40 years. 95% of the time it works.
