Well let's just say that even a bad magician can still pull a rabbit out of a hat once in awhile!

    Benchrest Match Sandy Utah 8/3 & 8/4

I think Jim Erickson will post the results up soon. He's been busy taking down the target frame boardwalks and he may have gotten a splinter in his typing finger! He's "management" ya know and not used to working with his hands................:p;)

    Is benchrest dying?

Just curious...... Nascar is an equipment oriented game. I suppose they have some way to level the playing field for the teams who don't have huge sponsors? Or is it like baseball and the Yankees?

    Is benchrest dying?

I don't know Hunter. Like I said earlier, there probably isn't a perfect competition among equipment oriented games. All I know is that a new shooter might be more inclined to stick with BR if he can win a little wood once in awhile. Since that greatly depends upon what barrel you've got...

    Is benchrest dying?

With gas at $4+ per gallon, all three places are too damn far..........

The "Unbreakable" LV .009 WORLD RECORD Has Been Broken!!!

Please do! Would love to see it! Btw, who did you hear this from? Who were the records committee scorers?

    Is benchrest dying?

I don't think it would change a thing as far as the game is played. The gun classes would stay exactly the same, the goal of Benchrest (the definition is in the handbook) would stay the same, and the envelope would still be pushed. In a small match, yes, there might only be five guys in one...

    Is benchrest dying?

Well then you're not talking about Benchrest anymore. You're talking about fun shoots with four or five guys who are pulling triggers on rifles that are in a "benchrest" configuration. Yes, that type of shooting will exist as long as there is powder to burn. The Benchrest I'm talking about...

    Is benchrest dying?

Yes, have multiple classes. Give a guy a chance to win against his real peers, he has a better time, he's more likely to come back. Doesn't mean we have to alter the intent and purpose of BR, or dumb down the game, we just give each guy a choice of which trophy he wants to compete for and puts...

    Is benchrest dying?

I haven't been around much lately but was interested in reading this thread when I saw it. Simply because I was thinking the same thing and have been for several months. Is benchrest dying? Perhaps a better question would be is benchrest doomed? To that, I would say yes. Anyone who actually...

    Actions

On the flip side of that coin, you can pay $1500 for a top of the line custom action and still wind up with a hunk of crap. Believe me, I know from personal experience........unfortunately.:(

Thanks folks. It's a relief Greg is still there. Didn't see the new "about us" page. Looks real good.

HI, NEW NBRSA web site. NICE.

Hey Zip. Good to have you back and hope you're doing better! You didn't miss much. Highlights were bench vandals defending their crimes, and gun owning 2nd amendment welchers trying to "compromise" with the libs. Pretty typical winter boredom. Anxiously awaiting May! Stay warm until then.

    Mandatory Superfeet use

So you are saying that rail guns won't shoot up to their potential off of superfeet? Seems like if that were true, all the other things done to minimize vibrations would not apply? Forgive me, I do not shoot a rail gun so I don't know. But it seems I've seen some mighty fine shooting with...

    Looking for Greg Walley.......

Kelbly's has updated their website and I see that Greg is not among the contact list anymore. Anyone know if he's still there and how one might get his attention or email address?

    Mandatory Superfeet use

That's probably because it gets forgotten in the myriad of other things going on at a match. It's not that huge chunks missing from the bench goes unnoticed, it just gets put in the back of people's minds. I know that at the Nationals in Phoenix this year, I casually found two benches that had...

    Mandatory Superfeet use

In my opinion, it's not so much the cost of repair in comparison to what we spend to play the game as it is common courtesy to those folks who spent their own time and own money to give us a place to shoot. We can spend a million dollars on gear, gas and motels, but if there's no place to...

    Mandatory Superfeet use

I think that sums it up perfectly Boyd. I'm all for the new rule. I'd like to see it implemented everywhere. But then, my papa taught me to take good care of my things and take better care of things that belong to someone else...............seems there's some folks out there that can't grasp...
