    30-30 based Wildcats

Just a thought……… It would be very interesting to put together a book of these wildcats or possibly a forum just for this and call it (Fathers of Invention). I for one would be interested in seeing just what has been done in the past before it is lost. It would be a good place to pay homage to...

    30-30 based Wildcats

I have been following the thread on (30-30 in benchrest) with great interest and am wondering if anyone might have a reamer print of the 30 Aardvark? I am curious as to what changes were made to the parent case (30-30 Win.) and its history. Thanks Rick

Jeff, Is this used in conjunction with the die in your previous post? If you could elaborate a little further I‘m interested in what you have to say. Rick

    Harrison Group Match

Al, Thanks just needed to know so I don’t have to bring a table for we might not have room. Not sure if Dudley is coming, haven’t heard from him since he got a job but Frank is coming with me. Will you have a trophy for the biggest group for that will be mine for sure; I haven’t shot anything...

    Harrison Group Match

Morning Gents, I was just wondering if you have a covered loading area. I have a new POS, you know it is one of those ugly little cartridges called a PPC, to work out the bugs and need to load at the range this time, must admit that I haven’t done this for some 3-4 years so I might need...

    what is your favorite lathe?

Mark, I haven’t seen oilers like that since the 70’s on the old war machinery that I set-up, it looks like ya need some steam power to make her run, my OD grinders were a little more sophisticated but I sure would like to have some play time with it….. Rick

    what is your favorite lathe?

As far as a favorite it is for it is the only one that I could find at the time. This heavy 10 TR lathe has been up graded with a single phase 1 ½ HP motor, it has a considerable amount of bed wear and some other problems but it works for what I do. I have a drum switch, new chuck, head stock...

    Bolt Shrouds

Just wondering, couldn’t you take an aluminum shroud or steel for that matter and fill the threads with Devcon Steel then cut new threads?? Devcon is pretty tough stuff and if you use Titanium putty it might even be better…..just my 2 cents .. Rick

    Hydraulic Forming

Today I had a talk with JD, my neighbor and he shamed me into finishing what I started. After some brainstorming we hatched a plan and I went back home to finish the project for future reference. I am going to post on my site later with pictures but the short and sweet of it is to expand the...

    Hydraulic Forming

Roger T, That would be tough for me to answer; I would guess but would need to experiment with it further. The guy’s at Hornady have done the leg work and perfected it; I just attempted to figure out what they did. For my purposes the .223 AI isn’t worth the effort but some of the other more...

    Hydraulic Forming

Joe, I suppose it would be possible but I do not have the means to do that. I searched for info on the subject and couldn’t find anything so I winged it, good old shadetree engineering. There are some different things I would like to try and if the snow was up to my a$$ I would do it but the...

    Hydraulic Forming

I just finished building a hydraulic die, as for does it work the answer is yes it does and the cases came out with similar results as the article in accurateshooter. I didn’t have the ability to grind the piston for closer fit so I turned it. I guess that using heavier oil instead of water...

Setting the headspace off FL sized brass.

Purchase a competition shell holder set from Redding, it comes in +.002 – 4 -6 – 8 and +.010 to adjust for the amount of sizing of your dies PN# 11601. Set your headspace to the SAAMI minimum so your brass is not stretched on the first firing, I think this would be a better avenue to pursue. If...

    "Chattered" chamber

Dennis, What are you pushing the reamer with, a dead center or a floater? If it is the later it probably will probably follow what is there. Rick

    Core seating ???

Bro.D Is it a new bucket of jackets? I have had jackets ordered at different times that take different punches for the same weight bullet. How much lube, over lubing causes jackets to pull out with the punch especially if the punch is too small with too much pressure or too large and contacting...
