Hi John Bases were installed with the dovetail front, and windage screws back. A bent barrel, as 4mesh points out could be. I could'nt find any scuff marks. I'll take the stock off and try a straight edge. Will Remington look at it beings I'm at least the second owner ? Thanks guys ! Jim
