    VISALIA Match Results May 2015

Thanks Wilbur. It was UNL 5 shot all weekend. It is a new shoot for Visalia that we are calling the Sniper King warmup. Rumor has it that there are around 14 shooters from California and Arizona that are going to invade Tacoma for the upcoming Sniper King competition.

I practiced on bench 5, but I was competitor 108, so I moved them to benches 8 and then 38 for the weekend.

Thanks Eric and the rest of the crew from Berger ran the match with the same precision that they must use for their weekday jobs making Berger Bullets! The Friday night BBQ hosted by Berger was finger licking good and the prize draw was very well supported by the different manufacturers. They...

    Sync flags to a computer?.......

Wilbur If I could write a software program that predicts what the wind is going to do next, I wouldn't waste it on Benchrest. I would use it to buy lotto tickets!

    Sync flags to a computer?.......

This alone will keep us ahead of the computers for a long time. The electronic flag is simply another tool to augment your visual flag reading skills.

mks Looked at these a long time ago. Cheapest I could find was $2,600 per head or $18,200 just for the sensors in a 7 flag system! Do you happen to know if the prices have come down?

    Sync flags to a computer?.......

Below are links to 2 videos. The first shows the sensors. The anemometer cups drive a DC motor that generates a current. The flag is driving an elliptical piston hooked up to a potentiometer. When the flag is at a full crosswind the full DC charge is allowed to flow through. As the flag goes...

2015 IBS GROUP NATIONALS 13-18 July

Jerry I too have heard of the 50 bench rule for as long as I have been shooting Benchrest and I was was quite surprised to find that it does not appear to be a written rule. Perhaps the directors take it into consideration when awarding the location for the Nationals.

2015 IBS GROUP NATIONALS 13-18 July

Jerry After a quick read of both the IBS and NBRSA rulebooks, I did not notice a written requirement for number of benches at either Nationals. I know that in the past the requirement has been a minimum of 50 benches and for the 2014 NBRSA Nationals at Holton, an exception was made for their...
