    Questions for newbie

I want to try a formal F/Class this year. Ranges that I have opinions to shoot somewhat locally vary from 600 to 1000 yds. I have only shot informal with friends - and not using true score board that was marked. That is what I am most unsure about. Never had the ability to look at a marked...

    Bag riser??

I don't own a true BR gun. I make due with my Savages until funds and time (young kids at home into all sports) will allow me to pursue BR more seriously. I shoot club matches at Denton, TX, will requires very low flags on one side. One of my Savages has a aftermarket varmint with enough of a...

    Used 40S&W brass

I got a 1,000 mixed once-fired from www.luckygunner.com for $40. Actually well over a 1000 usable brass. About 3% culls with a few aluminum blazers in the batch. I got a great price on Hornady cosmetic 2nd. I think the 155s JHP were $11.41/100. I loaded up. My 11 yr help me load up a 500...

John, Didn't you do a fun match in Dec last year? Any chance of that this year? Didn't get to make a single match this year. Sometimes life doesn't go as planned. Childs sports end this weekend. Enjoy men (and the ladies), hope to see some of you next year. Tim

    CNBC Exposes Remington trigger coverup

I shot a hole in the flloor of my old 74 4x4 chevy once while unloading my 700 VS 6mm Rem in the 80s. I had been out coyote hunting for the evening and after walking 4-5 miles, I sat the gun in the passenger's seat and got in on the other side. Once I started the truck to get the heater going...

    BAT SV PPC/BR boltface

I am thinking about a BAT SV with the PPC/BR boltface for a switch barrel gun with a 6PPC and 30BR. Question is will this action/boltface reliably eject both PPC and BR brass? I don't know anyone that tries this. I will go with a RB/LP/RE. If they don't eject reliably I will just pull brass...

Hidden treasure at the U of M...

Many high-end pieces of scientific equipment are made by the in-house machine shops at universities. Usually the departments of Chemistry and Physics have these facilities. Probably the engineering departments as well. At Oklahoma State, we also had a wood working shop, a glass shop, and a...

    trigger options

Got Shilens in two of mine and I think they are great. I am running them at around 14-16 oz. No travel and very crisp. If I get another M700, it will get a Shilen for field applications. Tim

All Packed Up And No Place To Go

Where are national held this year? I looked on the NBRSA website and couldn't find it. I even looked through the last couple of issues of NBRSA magazine and didn't see it. Does it rotate sites? Haven't been to a match ask the insiders about it. Thanks, Tim

Decision...Decision...30br turn or no turn neck

The Remington 30AR looks pretty similar to the 30BR. How do case capacity and shoulder angle compare? If he doesn't want to turn necks maybe that would work. My experience has been that the RP brass can't with stand pressures like the Laupa, but you can run a 30BR pretty light and still get...

    Used BR gun worries????

I am 100% positive my wife wouldn't like me seeking good deals on used women. Thanks for the discussion and input guys. Unfortunately I don't live within 2 hrs on any range where matches are held and I typically practice alone at a local range. I don't have a shooting partner that is a BR...
