    Need New Range Cart Ideas

For years I've used a Stanley rolling tool chest as my range box. It carried my Farley, my Gator, my shooting stool and odds and ends. Everything that I actually put on the bench. I could strap my cleaning box on top of it and haul everything from the truck to the bench in one trip.

With my kids in college and no longer hanging out with us, I've replaced my big Dodge Megacab with a Toyota Tacoma. The bed is 18" high. The Stanley is about 19" high and will not go under my tonneau cover.

So, I'm looking for ideas. I want something that I can haul everything in just like the Stanley, but is 18" or less in height. If it folds to that height, that'd be great too.

I've seen the folding carts like this one http://www.target.com/p/mac-sports-f...n/-/A-11254259 . It's certainly on the candidate list. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I used one for a while but found it somewhat awkward to pull because the front wheels turn independently of the handle. It is very sturdy and will hold all of your gear but is also heavy.

I recently bought a Dock Cart http://www.amazon.com/Dock-Beach-Col...d_sim_sbs_sg_4 which is similar to the discontinued cart that Sinclair used to sell. However, the Dock Cart has a much sturdier steel frame. I used it at the Super Shoot with no problems.

    range cart

If Sinclair is not handling the blue plastic range cart any more possibly someone could tell the name on the cart of the manufacturer as I am at work and don't have the cart at hand. The manufacturer made three styles of this collapsible plastic cart and could be found on the web.

Been there, done that. Loved it 2% of the time, hated it 98% of the time. The folding tonneau is a much better solution for me.

Some of the stuff here looks interesting, but you'd need to load & unload them to carry: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=c...JuaUiAeYtIHoAw

I use a Taylormade collapsible dock cart. It appears it uses the same type of basket the Sinclair model used, but frame and axle is MUCH more sturdy. The pneumatic tires are a plus too, easy to roll on gravel.

    Kotula's Foldit Cart

Not exactly what the original poster wants, but on the general subject of range carts, the Kotula's Foldit Cart is quite popular with F-class and service rifle shooters. I use mine for those and for bench rest. It's great for setting up wind flags.

I fold mine up and lay it on top of my gear in the back of my Subaru Outback. It really helped me a lot prior to hip surgery and since.

There are 3 additions to this cart that one should consider
    1. The cart also comes with 6" higher sides/ends---I really like this as I clean my rail and other guns on top of this cart after adding a piece of plywood to the top.
    2. Make sure you get both ends, the rear end is standard but the front end is optional.
    3. I had my wheels filled with foam, this makes them puncture proof--never a flat again. This was a $10.00 option when I bought mine

Amazon has these as does many suppliers--shop around, the prices varies with suppliers--watch shipping costs--some suppliers are free.

These are verry useful around the home--hide it from your wife or you will need another one.

Dicks sporting goods have many models of beach carts you should check out before you buy one. They have the soft sided one that folds up and has become very popular the past few years

I bought and used the cart shown by the post in DSM. I don't know where I bought it -but it was on the internet. Works great - however, if you purchase this one, reinforce the handle at the bottom curve. It sticks out quite a ways from the basket and therefore has a lot of torque. Within the first two relays at the Nationals this year it kinked on me. Luckily Ronnie Berg worked his dirt clod engineering skills and hobbled an angle piece to get me through the week.
