I have very sad news
Norm Jeffery has passed away today Monday Nov 7th
Norm was 88 years old, and had shot Benchrest for over 35 years. He was a frequent shooter at Visalia Ca and Ben Avery in AZ. He attended many Nationals and Cactus Classics. Norm was a dedicated BR shooter, and very good. My favorite story was when he he out shoot everyone with his bag gun in a rail gun match. Norm was very well liked and and a great person to be around. A gentleman always.
Norm has been stuggling with health issues, he was scheduled for heart surgery Tuesday
I will truly miss my friend and shooting buddy

I first met Norm at a Visalia match; an avid varmint shooter, seeking the greatest accuracy, he and his brother Elton were steered down to the match by Lee Six. After their first visit, they were hooked on Benchrest shooting. They both regularly shot Visalia matches for over 25 years. I traveled and roomed with Norm at matches in Phoenix, Tacoma & Raton in addition to Visalia. Despite his old, grouchy appearance, Norm was always of good cheer and an ideal travelling companion. He was always looking forward to the next match. Norm & his brother lived in the same house in Saratoga their entire lives. There are a lot fewer Benchrest shooters around now that started shooting in the nineties. Miss you, Norm, may you rest in peace along side your brother.

Norm always looked out for myself and Del Bishop or Larry Boers when we came to a shoot in Visalia. Saved us a loading table, frequently made a lunch for us, or guided us to a good restaurant for Saturday night dinner. When Del passed in 2011 Norm drove all the way up from Cal. for the memorial service. Just a real great guy and a real loss to BR shooting.

Norm was the Energizer Bunny always moving and working at the range at Visalia range as well as his own range despite his medical problems. He was one great shooter that beat us many times. Once after I complained to him that he always beat me or put me second. I was second again during the HV200. He rushed over and shook my hand. I asked him why he was shaking my hand after you just won on the last group. He said YA but you won the Grand! Good friend to all and a fine man. Rest in peace. ----Bill Summers
