Fine, black reticle on a black target

Sometimes, with my old eyes, I lose the crosshairs and/or dot on the F-Class target. Would an illuminated reticle help?

I would think it would if you could see it in full light. Accurate shooter. Com would be a good place to ask.

White paper target with black or blue rings would make more sense, like many BR targets. I have a Meopta scope that has quite a small illuminated dot but not sure just how small at longer distances.

    Short answer: YES!
I shoot a lot of club matches with a group of "vintage" folks, mostly in our '70's. Fine reticle on black targets get lost to older eyes in many lighting conditions. Several of us have scopes with illuminated reticles that have made life much more enjoyable in that regard. At the low end, Barska's 10-40x SWAT IR offering is serviceable out to 200-300 yards. At a higher price point several of us love Trijicon's Ten Mile 5-50 that has both red & green illumination and truly excellent glass & controls. We use it out to 1000 yards.
