    Product review:

Not having a YouTube channel to demonstrate and not having the interest to figure out how to post pictures here I'll write a report on a couple of products I highly recommend. I have been using a cleaning solvent called Wipe-Out Patch-Out for a couple of years now in all of the rifles I shoot be they Rimfire or Centerfire and have found it to be the most effective cleaner of all fouling. It removes copper and carbon quite easily. I simply dunk a brush, stroke the brush 5 to ten times, let it set and patch it out. As CF barrels age, the carbon imbeds in the lands and grooves and in leu of soaking for longer periods I do the same with Rem-clean and the barrel is sparkling.

The other is Shooters World powder. Since if it is nearly impossible to get Varget, I was fortunate enough to be able to buy some Shooters World Precision Rifle. I saw a review in which the presenter said the powder was a hair better than Varget and was $8. per pound less money. I set my 6BR barrel back a few days ago and being down to 1 pound of Varget, went for the PR for tuning. I like it lot and think it is a cleaner burning powder. Made the barrel group great. The price was and is attractive plus the performance. Shipped, $33. per pound.

Good information Pete, With the powder and other component shortages it's always good to have other options and other shooters experience with them. Thanks for posting

I found the PR @ Graff& Sons. What I've learned is if one sees something, they must immediately strike. The distributors get a flow of product but the demand still outpaces the supply. Good to hear from you.

Yes, the component market is absolutely crazy, I would quit shooting before I paid the prices some people are paying. I have a pretty fair stock of stuff on hand including Varget but it's good to know alternatives on stuff. Hope you are doing well

    I sometimes

Wonder if this component shortage is playing into the Anti's hands? Feel's like it up here in Canada....

I too have a good supply of powder for my PPC, 223's, and handguns.

I cringe at the prices up here. Glad I bought the supplies when I did. Canadian dollar was in MUCH better shape than it is today.

they blame the shortages here on new gun sales and everyone believing the current administration is gonna end the sales of everything gun related. I've seen this before but not for this long. Handguns are a big sales draw here and they claim the primers, etc all go to handgun ammo. Any excuse, eh?

+1 on Wipeout and Patchout, and let me add their Accelerator.

However, Bore Tech C4 will get additional carbon that they miss. Not sure if that's a good thing. Cleaned all the carbon out of my 30 BR with a 3 groove Lilja on it. Took me 10 shots in a match at St. J the other day to get it settled down. I think I'll leave the carbon in that one.

how much to take out. I will leave the carbon in the cracks, etc. I just want to keep it off the lands. I shoot my rifles a whole match, both the 6 and 30's and don't clean. They seem to do fine.
