Much as I love Tedly for his passions and his rants...... I disagree with him about it being "drugs" and people frying their brains. IMO he's missing the real problem.

I live immersed in a fundamentalist culture amongst a group of folks who generally exchew drinking and drugs of all sorts. "Clean Livin' Christian American Conservatives"......

Except they AIN'T! They think they're conservative but they think like children. They refuse to grow up and become adults.....It's all about "being nice" and "not judging" and "everyone's opinion is valuable"..... THIS is our problem IMO, political correctness. I've been kicked out of every room I've ever been in, for "being mean"........

BTW Ted knows this, he just hasn't formulated it in his mind yet. He KNOWS it when he speaks of discipline and parenting. Like Ted, I tell folks "you want to know me?? Meet my kids. ANY or all 8 of them. And my grandkids..." Most people of my generation whine endlessly about what losers their kids are.......MY generation, the folks aged from 50-70 right now have failed miserably in passing on judgement and values to our young.

Disingenuous "nice people" have been the death of us as they get played by the professionall martyrs and victims of this world..... There are fewer and fewer people in any group equipped to actually converse, rationally.

"Civility" has become a tenuous concept in a world where it's against the law to teach civics.

Still love me some Ted..... I'd happily trust him to care for my teenaged grandbabbies, KNOWING he'll treat them like little goddesses....... whereas I would go to jail before I'd let our POTUS or any of his supporters sully the interior of my home.

Like Ted, nothing gets my back up like mistreatment of the helpless.

I have nothing more to say and it’s better that way. We’ll, or I’ll, let Al Matson spout off about how his way of life, and his way of doing things, is THE way…………the truth and the light.

i'll treasure it and hold it close
    al-the truth and the light-inwa

Ohhhh, and I promise to never attempt to censor your words and opinions, you just spout all's you ever want sir, more power to you 20-some years we've disagreed, for 20+ years you've been trying to shut me up and for these same 20+ years I've welcomed your thoughts and opinions. That will never change, I promise. You and your cronies may well get me kicked out the room for "spreading false information" as your numbers are growing. Your power base and credibility have increased by leaps and bounds the last couple yrs..... you may still win this fight, but that's OK......i'm used to it!......and in the meantime as I look around and see normal people dimly questioning their reality ("words to a child" and "dress code") I'm shot with hope.

This doesn't have a whole lot to do with Bolt lift

But I grew up in a home that was not religious. My parents were hard working, honest to a fault, caring individuals who were all about speaking their mind regardless, tough love and never buying ANYTHING unless the had the money to do it. My father did not have a problem telling anyone what he thought or worried about how they would take it.

Me, I spent years trying to "IMPROVE" on my father's way of living. Not by belittling his ways but thinking there must better, softer ways to proceed. Hell, I've had Mortgages and a few car payments but I have never had a problem either accepting or dispensing TOUGH LOVE.

I thought for a number of years I was a Linertrain and believed there were more people in the middle, politically, than on either side. It took me years to change my mind.

I agree with much of what Al has said above. Liberalism has been on an insidious march since the early 1900's in this country and 1964 put the finishing touches to it. The amendments LBJ got passed fractured our society so there is no way to undo it. At 77, I believe this country has lost the way of life many of us grew up in, it's gone and we are powerless to stop it. We can complain and agonize but we can't stop the rain. The current generation is likely to close the door on Freedom, change and or abolish the constitution we have lived under for well over 200 years. Nothing we can do except speak our minds and push back as much as we can while we are still here.

If you want to know where the "Current Movement" started, Google the Experimental College at the University of Wisconsin. A lot if our country's unraveling came from there.

in a persons life where they must be honest with themselves and look at what is reality. As the Marxists grew in numbers one had to decide which side they were to be on and be true to their core beliefs. Now, in this country, it is said it's about 50/50. Hard for me, considering the times I have lived through, to believe that 50 percent of this country would come to believe in "Free Lunch" but I really think we are there. They look at the Scandinavian countries and see some wonderous paradise. Me, I don't want to pay a 60 percent tax PLUS the GST or ALLOW the government to make every decision for me and become a sheeperson. Only a few over 3 million people in those countries individually.
