Some years ago I inherited assorted reloading items from an Uncle who, in turn had received them from a man who was a very active shooter and hunter in the 1940's and 1950's. In this assortment is 5 boxes (50 ea.) of Remington bullets that are 180 gr. .30 cal and labeled "mushroom core lokt". What is odd to me is that they are a true round nose with a hollow point. Never seen anything like them. They are packaged in traditional Remington cardboard boxes, no zip code or WWW address which is a clue to thier age. I opened one of the boxes and the bullets were all standing up on thier bases with zero room to spare inside the box. Makes me wonder if Remington was way ahead of the crowd in offering "designer bullets" back in the good ole days! Have any members happened across these bullets?

I've never seen or heard of such bullets. My first centerfire rifle was a 722 Rem in .300 Savage and with it came a box of 180 gr Rem Corelokt's, and they were typical roundnose softpoints with I believe the scalloped jacket near the exposed lead. That's been over 50 years ago and my remembery doesn't work so well on that sort of stuff. No Alzheimer's yet I guess.

Maybe a letter to Remington might produce an answer, I'll bet that those bullets are more than 50 years old anyway.
