I live in Petersburg, TN 70 miles south of Nashville and am interested attending any BR match sanctioned or non-sanctioned to see what its all about. I have been actively shooting for 30 yrs and think I have finally achieved the patience to give this a try. I know about Memphis and Oak Ridge; however, one is 5 hours west and the other 4 hours east. I was hoping somebody here was from the area or could give me some info about something close to the Nashville or Chattanooga area. I have been on the IBS and NBRSA sites and cannot find anything in my immediate area.

Thank you in advance for your help.

We shoot Ultimate Benchrest there. That is a new form of benchrest score shooting. It will give you a good idea of what is going on. Feel free to call Rick or me (I'm at 502-994-0823)
Thanks

As Mark said, we shoot UBR matches on the 1st Saturday Mar thru Nov @ the Gallatin Gun Club. I would guess you are about an hour away, maybe a little more. Also, you might consider some monthly matches nearBirmingham on the 3rd Saturday. This month's match will be held on Jan 19. It will be a group match in the morning and a UBR score match in the afternoon. Mark gave you my #, give me a call.

If you make it to Gallatin, give yourself some extra time on the way back to visit The Reloader's Bench at the Mt Juliet exit on 40. Turn right and it is maybe 150 yards on the right in a little strip mall below road level. There is also a new Academy Sports just a little further on the left. Providence Mall, on the other side of 40 is the nicest mall in greater Nashville, IMHO. There is a Dick's Sporting Goods over there.

On your way to Gallatin, fuel prices are pretty good at the I-40/109 exit. There is a McDonalds, a Sonic, Subway, Wendy's and an independent pizza place there, also.

I'd give myself more time than Google Maps or whatever says to make the drive. There is construction at the bridge over the Cumberland. Cherokee Steak House at the marina just off 109 to the right before the bridge used to lay down a really nice meal. I haven't been there in several years, though.
