There was a regional bike race here today and one of the classes is for hand cyclists. They run the same course as the other guys (and women) and you can believe that it's a tough one. They go twice around the 25.7 mile circuit at a speed that would smoke me. In these shots, they are about 3/4 of the way up a mile long 7% grade that is no fun at all. I can't imagine the focus and determination needed to get in the sort of shape to do this.

I watched a report on Alex Zanardi, the former CART driver winning gold at the London Paralympics.
