ARC 100 yd Score Match
23 Shooters - 18 VFS, 5 Factory
Favorable conditions today for our 7th Annual Watermelon Match. Good scores were posted with the breeze barely reaching double digits. Partly cloudy with temps in the low 80's at the 10 am start time. With 13 of the 18 VFS guns staying clean there was some good tight competition at the contest.
The Factory rifle class was dominated by Jon Aronson, his 6.5 Creedmoor and shooting no crossfires today! (The "Mr. Crossfire" moniker has found a way to stay attached to Jon for quite a while now). His 249-9X score held to the end even with strong scores by 2nd placer Craig Wallace, 248-8X and a 244-9X by Paul Shanklin taking 3rd place.
There were 13 clean scores in VFS class. And a new group of winners in this rotation. Frank Davis takes 1st place, bragging rights and a fine, sweet Texas grown Watermelon with THE high score of 250-21X. He finished strong with 2 50-5X targets. 2nd place goes to Big Steve Brown only one X behind at 250-20X. Don Mulhall, always in the mix, gets 3rd place with his 250-19X. Glad to see another new shooter come to our little match, Matt Johnson joins us. Welcome !
Good shooting today by all. Our next club match is July 27, starts at 10am, while it's still 'cool'.
