    6mm ppc

If what he does works for him and what you do works for you........that's all that matters. More than one way to skin a cat. Also, the difference in powder lot #'s alone can easily account for,the .3gn difference between yours and his findings.....so he maybe just as fast as you are.

    6mm ppc

Nodes vary according to velocity.....the faster you go the closer the nodes(more frequent) and the amplitudes are lower. The slower the velocity the nodes are farther apart and the amplitudes are greater........all of this is in respect of time ......so grains of powder can vary between nodes...

    6mm ppc

Favorite loads will vary per individual for various reasons per shooter...conditions....locations in U.S.A.(east vs west) Some prefer moderate...some prefer hotter loads. Speeds will vary from about 3200fps to 3500fps. Velocity is not important......consistancy is. I'd do a sign-wave test to...

    6 x 47

I have an old Speer reloading manual(number 10) with loads for the 6X47mm on the .222 Remington Magnum case. The lightest bullet shown is a 75gn with speeds of mid 2900's to a little over 3000fps. The fastest load listed for the 75gn bullet was 3049fps using 25.0gns of RE7. The rifle used a...

    hummer barrels

I think there are more "hummer" shooters than there are "hummer" barrels. Good luck and stay safe.

    SER Hall of Fame

Thank you for the current listing.........I was wondering if Ed Watson was still at the top.....and he's been gone many years. It's gonna be a long time before anyone surpasses Ed Watson's record in the South East.

    barrels

Well, barrel harmonics do have something to do with the shooters ability. You can't even tune the rifle without taking barrel harmonics into consideration.

    barrels

The 2 main causes of errant shots are No. 1....shooter error and No.2....downrange condition changes the shooter was not aware of or didn't compensate for. No amount of tuning or tuner will make up for either one. The rifle only does what the shooter tells it to do.

    more barrel questions

A lot depends on the loads you shoot and how well and often the barrel is cleaned and kept cool.

    barrels

My opinion is it's more of a case of hummer shooters than hummer barrels because the shooter ultimately has the last say. You pull that trigger at the wrong time, that barrel ain't gonna makeup for shooter error......Tony Boyer or not. That rifle only does what you tell it to do.

    bullet

Some bullets, like the 168gn SMK .doesn't stablize 'til about 180yds,so it's hard to say. These new loong, high B.C. bullets may take more. Glenn Newick,in his book The Ultimate in Rifle Accuracy, emphasized the importance of gettting the bullet stabilized as quickly as possible. Flat based...

    Sickening, Just Plain Sickening

Even Socrates said that one of the main problems with democracy is justice(or lack of justice). Remember...the Boston Bomber is STILL breathing! Crime is big business(money)...,everybody is making money....more cops and equipment, jailer, bondsmen, clerks, judges, lawyers, mental health...

    Lt-32 lot 1

Looks like LT-32 Lot#10 is going to be slower per volume. With the same powder dispenser setting,Lot#10 is lighter in weight by volume and slower in chronograph speeds by about 100fps. ES/SD seems to be very consistant though with low numbers It's gonna take more podwer to reach the same speed...

    Lt-32 lot 1

Yes...Lot No.'s 1,2,and 3 were some of the best. I now have Lot No. 10 and it is definitely different and will require extensive work up.

    E. Cortina 1kyd group.... It's a 20 shot group...just so happened the last 5 went close together. You can see the other 15 bullet holes in the same target making a 20 shot group.
