6.5/.284?

From a practical standpoint is it any big deal to chamber a Rem 700 short action to 6.5/.284 if one doesn't care about magazine capacity? Does the fatter case work with the standard mag follower that comes with the rifle.

I chambered a 25-284 in a short action and it fed OK. I don't use it any now because the short magazine limits options and performance. A 6.5-47 in a short action will do anything a 6.5-284 will do in my opinion.
