    New rail

I am going to start having an option of making the I-Beam and bottom part of the barrel block made out of one piece so the barrel block will be machined into the beam from a solid piece of aluminum ,They are only going to be roughed out then I will finish them up myself, They will be the same price for now as the standard rail gun, Not really sure if its any better (or worse) than the extruded model, I have had mixed reviews on that but a few people want to have that as an option,The standard I-Beam rails seem to still set records, Even with a 6" V-block,So it is hard to fix what isn't broke,The main reason for me is to help speed up production,So if anyone wants an original Young rail gun with this Integrated block/beam system,Just let me know so I can get that going, . Even if you just want a top, Thanks...J

I assume you have access to a CNC mill that will carve carve the entire thing from a solid block.

In my line of work, we are seeing more and more pieces, such as large shaft couplings and companion flanges, machined from solid stock where they were previously cast, (either in steel or nogular iron), in the general shape and machined.

I think it is amazing what can be done with modern CAD-CAM set-ups.

Anyway, good luck with this endevour. You make the best Rail platform on the market.

Good to hear from you Jackie, I have a CNC knee mill and have done the prototype on it, I am having a company rough them out for me to take the hogging work out of it, that is the time consuming part with so much metal removal and truing up I-Beams is also time consuming, I like to have a complete hands on myself while building my rails and not leave it up to anyone else but in the case of roughing it out to save time I should be ok and then I can finish them up.This is going to cost me a little more though but for the time being I will not charge more for this option, It may later be a little more though but I don't think much. This should help me catch up along with I am now able to spend more time in my shop then I have been able to in the past, Take care...J

I had a few calls and to be clear this first run of these newer style tops for the rails are going to be for the 8" long barrel block with a 1.750 hole dia., Other configurations will be available at a later date for these type of rail gun tops, Also was asked about the 1" spacers for the slide rails making the rail top 2" wider, I did a few of these back in the early 2000's so that is also an option, If one just wanted to order a top with those I would make you a cross bar with the 4 slide pins at no cost with the rail top, I also included a flat top design (pic enclosed) that I have done over the years that is also available if someone wanted that as well. Thanks as always....J
PS if you already have a rail on order they will be done in order on the list regardless of style, I am just having these roughed out waiting to be used when needed.

    Extended scope base

[I have a couple extra scope bases not spoken for in this run, They are currently at the anodizers and should be ready to ship out next week, They are clear anodized and are $150 shipped, I also have 2-3 rail gun tops not spoken for with the Integrated barrel block machined into the Beam with the barrel block 8” long with a 1.75 hole I should have them back fairly soon. They can be just the top only or be used in a complete rail gun, I can also make spacers and cross bar with 4 slide pins for a 2” wider top while using the current width of rail top as well, I am also in the process of a 2” wider rail gun top with the same barrel block system so if anyone else is interested let me know, These newer I-beams with the block machined into the Beam are only being roughed out by someone else and I will finish them up myself, I am not charging more for the first batch but after that I may have too, The wider beam I will know more later on, And of coarse the standard competition proven rail guns are still available for those who prefer them. Nothing has changed there just adding options.Thanks….J
