Barts Bullets

Just wondering what weight bullets you like. 22 cal?? only 52 gr?

I like Bart’s original flat base 52g

5 shot groups @ 100 yds

I couldn’t get Sierras or Bergers to shoot as small.

I tried 55’s, made by different manufacturers, but the rifle just likes the 52’s. I’m getting pretty good groups with the other bullets, hoping with the Barts flat base I can get them a bit smaller. Glad to hear the Barts shoot good for you.

Gerry, are you suggesting that I should stay with the Nosler’s I am using and forget about the Barts? Don’t mean the response in a flip way, just asking.

I havent shot them in a long time but when I shot them they were all ran one one machine. Thus, you didnt have the variation you have with several different machines. At Lake City they were ran on several machines alot of variation. Making them for the army is different, I know, but you still have specs you ve got to stay in. Doug

By other “good” bullets I mean, Berger’s, Lapua, Nosler.

None of those are even close to a BR grade bullet.

I use BR 'tricks' for long range varmint hunting.
Groundhogs at 400+ yards.
Panda action, right bolt, left port, built by Kelbly's many years ago.
26 inch long heavy barrels.
An inch in diameter at the muzzle.

.22-250 AI and 6 mm REM AI.
The 6 mm makes a rel mess of a groundhogs out to 440 yards.

They sort of explode into parts.

Thats a really good agg you shot. A good lot of bullets can shoot just as well as hand swaged bullet,s
I had Sierras shoot just as well as custom bullets . I guess it ,s just what you get at times

I did not notice he had Berger's in the list.
They are very much BR.
Lapua and Nosler. he sighted are NOT BR grade.

I have a decent pile of Starke bullet in my drawer.
They also work VERY well.
6 mm 65 grain."Red Prairie Varmint Bullets."
They have made a real mess of groundhogs.
