Austin Rifle Club - Match Results Oct 25, 2020

ARC - 100 yd Benchrest Match for Score
    16 Shooters........13 VFS, 3 Hunter Rifles

Started match overcast and low 80's with our prevailing SE 5-12 breeze. The hunter rifles dropped a few points but John Gallaher only missed one and takes 1st with his 249-9x. Curt and Tommy tied at 246-11X but Tommy had a better 1st target score to place 2nd.
The 250's shot today were the top 3 places in VFS. A 250-16X was posted by Steve Krause for the top spot. 2nd place was Marlon Goates at 250-11X and the 3rd place money goes to Larry Neal shooting a 250-9X. Now, the most X's shot today was Don Mulhall with 17 but he dropped a point when the wind switched to finish with a 249-17 for a close 4th place.

Sad to report we had a man down during a target change today. Robert Rongero took a hard fall on the concrete steps. After a rest, an ice pack and a look over by a visiting Dr. , he came back and recovered for his son to drive him home. Let's all wish him well and a get better soon.
Couldn't ask for a better response and concern from his fellow shooters. Every club has some shooters getting up in years and it was good to see everyone pitch in to help this one.

Next month's match is on Nov 29 starting at NOON. It is a week after Thanksgiving weekend.

    Update on Robert

Robert is doing better today. His brother Nez said he got checked out at the ER with thorough exam and tests. That's very good news and we all wish him a speedy recovery.

I didn't know Robert had a fall. He is a very fine man that I call a friend.
